Seems they have binned that off and now you only get 20 free listings a month. Utter ****ing shysters.

Apologies if posted elsewhere.

I think its an addition rather than instead of, the 20 listings include fixed price & scheduled start times free, I think they will still be doing the free listings & I think you can still list any amount free at 99p start.

Well I hope so anyway.

Just been chatting to Ebay live chat and the 100 free 99p or less per month listings have gone.

Just 20 free listings per month which completely ****s me up. Also raised to 35p per listing after the 20 so not even the 15p which was not too bad if you used them all up.

Anyone sell on any other sites as I've had my fill of Ebay. I know there's EBID but is simply not enough customers. More people need to know about it to the benefit of everyone especially sellers. Lower all round fees.

Yeah it's a ****ing joke. It's just another way to kick the teeth in of the small sellers - if you sell something for 99p then nearly all of that has gone on fees!

I can't believe the brazen revisionism of their promotion - "A Good surprise, 20 free listings every month". Good surprise? Utter ****ing cunts!

So not only do they cut their free listings down drastically but they put their listings price up by 20p?! I can't see how they can add so much of a price increase over night and think that that's fair in any way. Have peoples salaries gone up by that kind of percentage this week as well?

This might be what finally tips the scale for an alternative to come along, we all saw what happened with Royal Mail when they got greedy.

Ebay are bastards  !!!!! but they control the majority of the market and know they can pretty much get away with it. There is still a fair amount of stuff on ebid (who have great fees) but are the buyers out there? Would love to ditch ebay once and for all but they have control at the moment :( we need a revolution !!!!!!!!

I've only just realised that the cunts are now taking a FVF on POSTAGE! When did they start doing that? ****ing utter greedy cunts! Seems like they've been doing this for ages, underhand bastards.

They have done it to push tax evasion, as majority of people dont declare their profits off ebay, they are getting stick off the government, generally a normal person would not need to list more than 20 items a month unless you are a business seller :(

Has anyone tried selling via Amazon?

From ebays Announcements page

Hello,

From 13 May 2014 we're making a significant change to our fee structure to make it more transparent and easier to understand. We're offering more flexibility in how you sell and removing insertion fees for the first 20 listings.

Private sellers will enjoy:

· Every month you'll get to list up to 20 items in any category (excluding Motors) for free - these free listings can be in auction or fixed price format and can have any start price

· Every month you'll get to schedule up to 20 of your listings for free - this means you choose when they go live

· Insertion fees after your first free 20 listings will be £0.35 per listing

What's not changing?

· The final value fee for item and postage costs will remain at 10% across every category (excluding Motors and Property) for private sellers. The maximum you will pay is £75.

What's disappearing?

· 100 free auction only listings per month provided the start price is less than £1

· The tiers of auction fees where your insertion fee is dependent on the tier of your starting price

· The different fee structure for media-related (DVDs, films, video games etc.) and other categories

· The £35 insertion fee for property listings

Private sellers with a Shop:

You don't need to be a business to run an eBay shop. With an eBay Shop, you'll get everything you need to create a central shopping destination where buyers can learn about you and all the products you sell.

Private sellers with a Shop will enjoy:

· Every month you'll get to list up to 100 items in any category (excluding Motors) for free - these free listings can be in auction or fixed price format and can have any start price

· Every month you'll get to schedule up to 100 of your listings for free - this means you choose when they go live

· Final value fees are reduced from 10% to 8% (up to a maximum of £75)

· Insertion fees after your first free 100 listings will be £0.35 per listing

What's not changing?

· Private sellers with a Basic Shop continue to pay £19.99 per month

What's disappearing?

· 200 inclusive fixed price listings per month

Anything else

We will continue to run regular listing promotions so if you think you're going to exceed your listing allowance in a particular month, look out for these.

Also, please note that fees for eBay business sellers are unaltered.

Regards
The eBay team

So do you guys know if they will still be doing the other promotion of 100 free listing every couple of weeks - £1 or over start bids?

They will be doing some free listings promotions but will be invitation only, I presume through an email. I was told this would be totally random.

I must say i never enjoyed any advantage from the free listings as they were always for auctions and not BuyItNows. All my listings are always BIN so i never got anything out of it. Always thought it was kind of bullshit. Listing fees are generally out of order anyway. Regular, proven sellers should get hit with them. My listing fees alone cost me £75 a month. ****ing sucks.

My business fees per month are regularly topping £700

Amazon have been knocking at my door but they require you have a percentage of new stock. And their fees for some bits are chronic.. Jewellery eg almost 30%

Tesco would be a good choice to take over ebid, use it's growing rep, software and move it on. But a company like tesco are more likely to just side with ebay because their footfall is vast, global and despite its issues it does a lot of stuff quite well.

This is a good article worth reading

http://tamebay.com/2013/11/is-it-time-to-take-another-punt-on-ebid.html

As for the end of the 99p I'm trying to work out why. They are pushing their basic shop for £19.99 with 100 free.. Maybe there were too many things selling for 99p and their cut was too small. Nobody will list much now for lower than £2.50 I'd guess...

Looks like its time for ebid to make a breakthrough then as this is utter bollocks, think I may give ebid a go, what's there to loose, ebay sucks balls!

That was an interesting article.

Plus if you sign up for ebid now they have a great offer whereby you can pay £50 upfront and then have very limited fees thereafter (might be worth reading small print first).

Think I'm going to bite the bullet and go for it, let the revolution begin!!!
