eBay seller sent me a repro

Fair play to the seller for coming on here - but the guys are right - if you know it is a repro then state that it is. It is very obvious from the pictures that this is a repro sabre and the seller is experienced enough to know this.

For me, honesty will get you far more business in the long run

Also he sold it to someone on here who returned it because it was a repro saber, that was how this thread started in the first place.

Kudos for coming on here to explain yourself. You will now get a lot of largely constructive advice. Don't take it as personal, but you have the oportunity here to repair your rep within this community.

In response to my previous message. I don't think you have necessarily listened to advice given. You strike me as someone only really interested in ££££.

That line about at your own risk, that's a ****ing cop out mate. You know it as well. Tell the truth. If you know it's repo say, if your not sure ask.

I will relist him, and all future listings using the word 'reproduction', when the item is a fake.

I have already put into practice some of the valuable ideas and pointers to keep this community happy that I have been given. I will do this also.

All you needed to do was say in the listing that the light sabre was reproduction! It's not rocket science! You'd win a lot more friends if in the listing you said that it had been brought to your attention from people on here that it was a repro then everything would be hunky dory.

Whatever, I will use the word 'reproduction' from now on. I have no wish to con anyone. No one likes a scammer, at all.

Maybe I've had too much ale, or maybe I'm sick to death of people who have never met me, happy to hang draw and quarter me without ever speaking to me first.

I'm a good guy and seller working hard to create a buying experience people are happy with. I have way more positive than negative reviews. But I want even more positive reviews. I'm putting into practice what i learn as I go. Step by step. I have some great items, I have some bog standard items. If you wish to bid, please ask, advise and suggest on anything and everything to improve the experience. I welcome it all in an open and honest way and I am more, way more, than happy to learn and act accordingly.

If you want to snipe and belittle me without ever dealing or speaking with me directly, good for you. I'm sure it makes you feel very important.

....there comes a point when one must defend themselves.

This message is left with the best of intentions. I don't seek enemies. I seek friends, but I am no ones doormat.

Well I have dealt with you and you asked for help and basically ignored everything I said, you know writing this in your listing "No guarantees at all will be made over the weapon..." was the wrong thing to do as you have already had this returned because it was a repro, so why not just say "the light saber is a repro"?

You are judged by your behaviour. You knew the weapons were repro and you chose to put that wishy washy description in your sales description. Why is that. No guarantees can be made about the weapons. That's not quite correct though is it. You can guarantee they are repro because you know that. Answer me two questions:

1. Why did you not put 'complete with repro weapon' in the description.

2. Why hide your feedback.

These two things to me stink of smoke and mirrors. That is what my opinion has been formed on. Wether you think I am right or not is irrelevant. It's the opinion I have formed based on how you have conducted your sales.

You are digging yourself in further mate - we are very anti-repro on here - fair play for you to come on and defend yourself but there is no denying that you were trying to be smart with that description - especially as you knew it was a repro weapon.

If you are truly intent on being an 'honest' seller then we would expect you to declare reproductions - not leave it down to the buyer to make a decision from a picture

Hope you stay about but unless you hold your hands up here then I can't see you winning many friends

Sparkys, I pulled the auction because it was pointed out the description was not accurate enough. The highest bidder was bidding over £90, possibly not knowing the lightsaber was fake. I thought my description was clear enough. But apparently not.

That's not true sparkys, you have given several pieces of advice I have acted on. Especially P&p costs. I now offer free p&p for figures at your advice. I have lowered all my p&p costs at your advice. I make sure the courier is correctly listed at your advice. You have been VERY helpful to me. I am very grateful....

I am trying holding my hands up iftcairn, I'm trying do the right thing. I'm here trying to clear the air. Show me another seller trying to this....

You followed my advice but you still think you were clear in your listing but you were not, if you thought you were being clear and you were in the right there was no reason for you to pull the auction.

You completely ignored Pete's request weeks ago to post a screenshot of the myhermes receipt showing the amount you pay for postage. Would of been better just to say yep, I overcharged for postage.

It just means you rehashed a topic discussed privately, publicly. I didn't realise as we'd already discussed this you needed me to do it again..
