eBay seller sent me a repro

He's been on eBay since 2003 so he should know how to do this.

Absolutely. It's your obligation to have a grasp of the basics if you chose to sell on ebay. I hope, as i suggested, anyone waiting for refunds have opened a case. The seller has had more than enough time to get this sorted. This is why i tend to go straight to a case. It saves a lot of ****ing around and 2 talk from the seller. Perhaps he doesn't know how to issue a refund, well, ebay does so not to worry.

Don't string if out anymore, open an eBay claim.

I'm going to open a claim for excess postage charges, as he decided to avoid Petes request to show a myhermes receipt.

How do you go about opening a claim for excessive postage charges Marcus?

You'd open an "Item not as described" case. It will ask the reason in the case. You select "The problem is not shown above" and then write the reason in the box and state "i would like a partial refund of…(X amount)"

Cheers Pete.

I got my full refund of 78.50 that I paid for R2D2 with pop up sabre just now. To be honest it is not as easy as it seems to refund on eBay as I had to speak with Payal to sort it, and I am sure so did Jon.

It's only my opinion but Jon is a good'un. He kept me up to date with his brilliant comms, did his best to resolve it and joking SWFUK is also a very honest step. Let's give him a break, and the answer lies in patience and communication.

So does anyone have a last 17 R2D2 pop up with a light sabre I can buy please?

Update! Jon sent me a £10 refund as we had earlier agreed, to cover the cost of the blaster. It took a lot of unnecessary to-ing and fro-ing to get this though.

I hate stuff like this. Really taints the hobby. He seemed very honest, but it did feel like he was trying to string me along by the end.

Hadn't even thought about the postage either. £6.50 for a loose figure, 2nd class in a small Jiffy bag. Hmmm...

Outrageous.

Thanks jas and blue snag. It's sorted, but is not easy. Once pay pal 'hold money', that's it. Jas and I struggled to get it back.. But we did.

Thanks to both of you. The postage costs covered your insurance for items upto £100 plus materials...

As advised by sparkysx, I am now listing with free p&p.

Thanks again guys and sorry.

Jon,

Appreciate you coming on here. My advice would be to be very careful with the weapons from now on- it will come back and bite you as collectors are very on the ball with it. There is a very anti-repro feeling on the forums and it really p's people off. If you're not 100% with a weapon, mention it in your description. Then at least the buyer will be aware of what they are buying.

HTH :)

It was a UPS jiffy bag....used, I understand that a used jiffy bag has some value as it was paid for by someone at some point, but it's not worth £4.37, that's the difference between was was charged for postage and what was paid for postage.

You don't need to offer free p&p, just offer what it actually costs for the price of the postage and the packaging, although free will quite possibly enhance bidding activity.

to refund somebody partially or fully on paypal is a piece of piss. I'm not having that its fiddly or time consuming, nor does somebody playing the dumb card on ebay. If you sell on there then at least have the respect to find out a little or expect transactions need your attention. Fair play for coming on here and explaining,,.... glad the guys here got sorted.

currently i'm having a fun ebay argument with a seller who thinks 1st class royal mail SF costs £7 for a small parcel. Bullsheet.. why try and argue something I'm boring and anal enough to argue back.. (yes.. thats me)

Well some of them got sorted, I would of liked to have seen the screen shot of the postage that was paid, but that was ignored.

Thought I'd keep this thread going, got a Luke Jedi through the post today with a very crappy fake blue saber, looks like a hollow tube that has had paint injected into it, it floats. I have contacted the seller but they haven't gotten back to me yet.

No mate it's inside the saber,it hasn't been molded from solid blue plastic like normal, it's a hollow tube with blue paint injected into it, it looks crap.
