i won a tie fighter on ebay and it came and as soon as i opened the box ...... the stench of cigarettes hit me. it absolutely stinks, i am going to try and air it , but does anyone have any tips to try and get rid of the smell?

and would you lads leave neutral or negative feedback if something you bought smelled like this. the item itself is great but the smell :evil: :evil:

u can remove that smell by scrubbing with a toothbrush avoiding stickers..


OR

put in a plastic box with baking soda in the bottom (not touching your tie fighter somehow) leave it in there for a week or fortnight and the smell should go!

ive had a few smelly figures and scrubbing does the trick

It's not like you have to live inside the box. I guess everybody has different standards. The only time I drew the Line was when I bought a collection and the falcon box had a family of mice that had pissed all over it and died in it. In that case I gave the box away to a friend, Who was obviously desparate.

I've never been much of a smoker but would the seller even notice the smell if they smoked? I've had boxes that stank of fags (uk meaning Todd :lol: ) though and it ain't pleasant

that clipper/pal speederbike I bought recently stank of fags, I've aired it for a week or two and its a lot better

I bought it in a private trade so feedback wasnt an issue, but its not a pleasant smell (and I'm an ex-smoker) and you should let the seller know that you are bothered

put an air freshener in there and after just 1 day it smells 100% better , so left positive feedback
