Ok, I'm going to stand up for Mr McGregor, he really wasn't that bad and in Revenge of the Sith was quite good, admittedly not so much in Phantom, but I wouldn't blame the actors there.
I don't think he will be back, really can't see anyway that will work. I think maybe more that he has been less than complimentary about his time in the SW universe in the past so it is a surprise to here him talk about coming back, but then again Ford hasn't exactly enthused about his time in the past but he is likely to make a return.
Anyway there are far worse actors than McGregor to get stuck with.

McGregor is fine in frothy movies, but compared to Sir Alec, an actor of great sublety, no chance. The dire prequel scripts didn't help. Same goes for Portman. The only talent to keep a shred of dignity from EI-III were the veterans - Ian McDiarmid and Sir Christopher Lee.
I for one, would like to see the original cast back at least as cameos (though I suspect it will be more), for more adventures as it's the last chance to do so before old age makes it impossible. Disney I reckon will then move on to more SW without them as it's guaranteed box office. Bring it on!

The only reason the acting was **** in the prequels was due to a SHITE script and piss poor directing. Only George Lucs could make badass Samuel L Jackson sound like a plank.

I think kenobi is dead in the new movies so McGregor should not be back in the new movies.
