Deber May - Anyone seen this??

maybe dennis could pay him another visit with a few friends and get our forum members donation back, ****ing twat deserves it.

Andy, I love to get the donation back to each and everyone. Although i am not the internet tough guy who says i would pay someone a visit. Even tough i have been practicing martial arts for quit a few years now, I am not an aggresive guy that's comes around to beat you up.

But yeah i got the old and new adress, so at least know where the stuff is if someone wants to go collect it. Lets see if we can convince him/her to send it back herself first.

My donation was only small in comparision to what was collected, but i'm gutted for all you other guys that donated and spent time organising the collection.

Deber or whatever your name is you should feel ashamed!

Another who didn't donate, and didn't feel bad about it.

Like a few others I just found it all too convenient that he/she/it came on asked about insurance and then had their collection nicked. Also, had they actually contributed much to the Boards? If it was someone who had been on here for a while and who I knew was on the level, then I would have donated no problem*, but not to a fly-by-night newbie who had been setting alarm bells off from the start.

I feel sorry for those of you who did donate, and for those who organised it. I wouldn't feel any shame in what you did though. You did it with the best intentions. It's just very sad how many scammers and c*nts we seem to have in the hobby nowadays.

* Don't get any ideas about claiming your collection was nicked boys!

Sorry to read about all this guys and to read we have another scammer

I also did not donate to deber. But that was because I did not know her. I think I have only talked with her on the forum a few times and I have never done a trade with her.

I don't think I have seen her on the forum since I heard about she lost her collection and I have never heard about she have thanked any of you guys for the help with a new collection.

i can remember when this all went on and thought it all seems a bit dodgy.

but had a feeling a few members on here could vouch for deber and had met her in person?

pretty sure there would have been less donated if it hadnt been a fairly hot dutch girl but i guess thats how the scam works.

i feel bad for the people that got scammed on here thinking they were doing a good thing and helping someone out as there are a lot of nice people on this forum, hopefully some of it gets found and the bell end that did it all gets a slap.

Yeah it was just wishful thinking mate, it really annoys me that this bloke has done this, if he was local i'd fancy going round and getting it back :(
might be worth reporting his "theft" as a fraud though seen as he is scamming people left right and center.

I did not donate for 2 reasons, A it all seemed odd as she was a "new" member and B I was reeling under a burglary at ours just at the same time as hers (they took almost everything of value except my Star Wars/my guitars :) ). I did feel sorry for her and wrote a very heartfelt response and now feel like a numpty!

we should bloody have a CRB check before buying/selling (too many frauds) has anyone checked the Bobba Fett-notebook scam on RS. Done by a senior member!!!

Ah man bloody disappointed to see this turned out to be a load of bull. I'm only out one fig on this but I'm not bitter in regards to losing it, I am however extremely angry at the fact once again honest people only concerned with helping another have been used in this way.

All the blokes who organised the collection Dennis, Matt and Frank I have nothing but the utmost respect for and them being used in this way is deplorable. Also pisses me off that most someone not even involved in the hobby ( Frank's wife Lorraine ) who donated her time and one of her brilliant pyro art pieces to the cause has been betrayed as well. Don't know Dennis ( bought a Yoda or three from you in the past mate ) or Matt very well but they both strike me as decent people, Frank I consider a very good mate within the hobby so I'm absolutely ropable knowing his good nature has been taken advantage of.

Do you have a link for this Jas?

Here goes, please don't' skip to the end, read how it develops....beautiful how the whole RS community came together and helped the buyer!

It's Frank and the other lads I feel for, they put a lot of time and effort into the whole thing in comparison to the lads who donated something, I forgot all about that thing franks missus made and that just made my blood boil

Actually i would no call him a senior member as i believe he was only 6 months On the boards aswell, wasn't he?

And just that someone is a senior member doesn't Always mean they are Always good.
Just look Back at some off the bigger scams Pulled On RS, these where done by people who where members for years or At least Well known in the community at that time.....

But hey i get what you mean, i Always feel safer sending cash to
Someone who is a trusted member than a newbie.

I jumpen On the bandwagon to help Deber, because i thought we where doing something good, something right. I thought we made a difference....

Boy was i wrong and now i feel sad i even helped this whole transaction, probably the last time i really help someone out on the internet Unless i really know him/her for years.

Well in a way I can give a sigh of relief as I Dennis & Matt, have had this on our backs for a long time, the not knowing 100% & hoping we were not all taken for a ride, I think we all had the right intentions & just wanted to help a fellow member out in there time of need.

Someone on the thread about her collection said it would be a nice gesture if a little something was sent to make her feel better & know we were behind a member down on there luck, I had time on my hands at the time & figured it was my turn to put some effort back in to this great forum that has given so much to me over the years.

I put a stupid amount of effort in to making this one not to forget & not only posted about the collection here but also on TIG & RS to get the best response possible & both Matt & Dennis put a hell of a lot of effort in to this as well & we 3 coordinated the collection getting to her/him in one go & as has been said even a personalised plaque was done by my good lady as a little reminded, maybe I should have just got her to do a huge sigh saying fool & put it in front of the pc screen.

As Dennis has already pointed out the communications from Deborah/it went from bad to worse to non existent & we sent her a very to the point email stating that she owed the members at very least a thank you post & some photos, the thank you post came up as well as a couple of rather odd & disjointed emails, the photos (as we suspected) never turned up & we (the 3 of us) got to the point of having put so much effort in that we had to walk away from the situation before it drove us all crazy & put us out of the hobby, we suspected that if we let sleeping dogs lay then at some point it would all come out in the wash & thankfully it now looks like it is doing.

May I also add that as well as the donations of toys & cash there is a member on RS who works for a well know computer manufacturer, who very kindly offered to donate a laptop (a bloody nice one may I add) that we also had sent to her so she could get back to normality & come back on line & post some thanks - what a joke, we all feel like fools over this I can tell you & we all feel terribly about asking members to donate not that things have turned out the way they have, it will not stop me being who I am & will not change my giving & caring nature, but I will be on high alert from now on & be a hell of a lot more cautious in whom I help.

Some background -

I spoke via pm with what we thought to be Deborah a couple of time about baggie multi-packs prior to all this & gave advice on them.

She was buying several from a guy I know & there was one I was interested in, she realised I wanted it & kindly (so I thought at the time/but may also have been a scam in some way) said she would step aside & I could have the pack, I declined as the deal was done & I would not like to deprive someone of something they want & had already done a deal for - this was in my mind when I offered to put my best foot forward & do the coordinating of the donations.

I also knew from contact with Steve @ UKG that she was know for sending items in for grading & did indeed have a nice collection of high end items, so figured it was safe to do the donation thing.

I am truly sorry for the members who donated cash & toys (& there time & good will) to this effort & hope that it will not sour them from making the hobby an enjoyable one for us all.

Now the hard part - I am still sitting on the remainder of the funds from the collection that were to be forwarded on to her as & when the photos & thank you thread were posted, both myself Dennis & Matt agreed it would be best for it to be sent on afterwards as a second wind shocker surprise to really put the icing on the cake, the thank you thread eventually happened after some push & shove but it seemed hollow & the photo update never happened, so out of the funds we decided to send on the postage cost from the states of the laptop to the guy who sent it at his own expense so he was covered & I have been trying to find a nice MOC to do as a give-away for the members who donated as a little thank you & to give something back - well it will no longer be a surprise but it will still end up with at least one of the detonators being out of pocket & maybe even someone getting something out of this & actually appreciating it, so some good will come from this mess (I hope).

I plan to (when I have the item in hand) put all the names (numbers for the order they donated in) in to a random number generator & give the item to the lucky winner, its taken some time to find an item of the quality I was hoping to get for the money & I am having it graded before being sent & all postage costs will be covered, just a **** that its come out like this rather than it happening spontaneously.

We were at a bit of a loss as what was best to do with the remaining amount as we did not want it sent to Deborah till the never forthcoming photos appeared & were then in a quandary as what was the best thing to do with the funds - donate to a charity, try to divide up evenly & send back to the detonators (would have been a pittance divided between almost 50 members) so we thought this was the best way forward, I know it won't please everyone in question, but I hope it will please most.

Final thought - bored & disappointed

EDIT - this is what was also sent on as well as the toys -

I have no idea of how much cash is left, I am happy for whatever remains to be donated to a worthy cause or charity. Just my 2 cents!! :D

Can not believe this some people are ****ing thieving trash,, the sad thing is, if it does ever happen to a genuine person people will be reluctant to donate again.. :( :(

Good idea about the moc, that would be the best idea for the remainder of the funds and then a draw for all those who kindly donated to win it.

How this person sleeps at night I do not know.. :?:
