Also didn't 'she - Deber' post some risky picture of herself in the show us what you look like thread???? and then change it due to other members saying it was inappropriate or am I dreaming this up :? :?

Yeah your right Stephen..........just had a look back and it all starts on page 34 of the show us yourself thread Todd had his doubts from the start.......cold nipples and all :shock:

About to post my experience from several transactions with Deber on RS. This whole thing sounds horribly shady.

The worst thing about it is regardless of the outcome now everyone who was involved in this will always be skeptical of any other sob story regardless of whether it's true or not. Things like this and the whole notebook fett debacle really destroy community spirit.... not even mentioning Tony :roll:

In the show yourself thread pg's 34-35.... A pic has been removed and there are a couple of up to date ones plus one from when she was younger which proves nothing other than that if this is a scam the person went a long way to making 'Deber' as believable as possible :x

We need a picture of Deber with the donated collection to at least help and prove she exists, if this is provided then perhaps some official info from the police who handled her burglary, which she should have :!:

Ah for Fu@k sake, I thought someone at the time actually knew her? Or am I mistaken... :? I don't remember it being so unclear when the whole "robbery" news broke. I was led to believe people could vouch for her

Edit: Funny that, after the donation thing I do remember thinking the whole reply/thanks was fairly poor at the time considering the effort!

I know incidents like this don't help restore people's faith in humanity but the REAL community will always stick together and look out for each other regardless

Some have lost more than others and I recall one very generous donation (paypal I think) but when things occur like Tim's wedding or Wolff's donation there will still be a show of togetherness and that's why we have such a great and generous community although next time we will be more wary :wink:

Obviously still hoping it's not all one big scam but it's hard not to feel pessimistic

Yup. Alarm bells ringing. Someone so willing to friend people on Facebook she has had little contact with usually has a lot more friends than just a handful. At least one or two old school buddies or an aunt that doesn't know how to use the internet.

These sorts of people have friends lists in the high hundreds. I would suggest the Facebook profile is definitely fishy.

I and frank really sent her quite direct messages about her lack off communication and appreciation, considering how much effort we had put in this and how generous people had been.

Well Dennis what you have just written there sums it all up to me - 99.9% SCAM. I never contributed - reason...because I didn't know her at all and I never 'engaged in contact' with her on the forum unlike others on here.

Disgusting considering the generosity of everyone on this forum.
