brilliant - you must be stoked having those memories on film

I reckon your luke X-Wing was a Palitoy 45b back - bounty hunter offer on the back :)

one thing that stuck out for me and presumably was true for many of us - you didn't give a **** about the weapons, loads must have got hoovered up on Xmas day all around the world

Yeah I didn't give a crap about the weapons, I didn't care that much about them when I started re collecting in 1996.

Totally agree about the X-Wing Luke, I would really like to have one of those now, but assume I would need to sell my car to afford it!

As mentioned before, there were LOTS of these figures sold and I bet almost everyone on here ripped open their carded figures the same way as me back in the day, otherwise whats the point? Almost every loose Star Wars figure in the world used to be carded until we got our mitts on them!

That being said, I wouldn't of just left the weapons on the floor and my Mum wouldn't of hovered them up. They just go missing over time....

Tried to make a slightly longer cut, but this one isn't as smooth from take to take.

Just watched a video of myself opening my Christmas presents in 1982, it's really shocking, 7 year old me tearing the figures off their cards! Seemed pretty happy to be getting an Empire Strikes Back Falcon though!

Will see if I can upload a snippet of the actual event if anyone wants to see it.

Can't remember, it's on the A13 and have bought a skateboard from there as well, will ask my parents when I next talk to them. It's out past Leigh.Pretty sure they sell bikes as well, or used to if they are still there.

My Nan lived at Seabrink, Leigh on Sea. I was born in Rochford Hospital so Essex boy also. Lived in Canewdon until I was nearly five, then moved up this way.

I'm guess those were probably Palitoy figures?

It's very hard to tell. I tried looking at the logo on the cards but it's just not clear enough to see if it;s a white box Palitoy logo or the white and blue text of the Kenner logo. :?

From that first still, that Luke does look scarily like a 45a

Which sold for £3.5k last year on fleabay!

To be honest, I don't think it matters.

All that matters is that as a child you had the greatest Christmas thanks to those toys! Awesome stuff 8)

It doesn't matter, I couldn't care less. No way a 7 year old was going to leave those carded!
