Chewbacca 12" 1996 C series

yeah vintage has a plain and simple style.

i find the butch/buff modern figs look a bit "try hard"

luke is a skinny whip not a wrestler for example lol

not keen on super articulation either - makes it too toy-ish for me, even tho vintage are toys too! if that makes any sense to you?!

Back to you Burnsy.
If you have a full list of characters that were released for the range I'd be very grateful.
I'm only interested in the ones with the flap on the front of the box.

No no mate. Don't get me wrong. That list was a big help. The one I asked if anyone had at first though, was the vintage style saga figures.

I collected the Hasbro 12" figures. Got most of them but stopped buying figures that kept getting re-released.
The 2 comments you made in the quotes confused me.
The series started in 96/97 with boxes with flaps on the front. A list of which ones were released should be easy to get.

Vintage style figures released with, wren't actually vintage style - they were just slight improvements on the previous Hasbro figures and came in reproduced boxes from the vintage line (not 100% copy, just similiar). As far as I know there were only 4 of these released, Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, Luke (farmboy) and Chewbacca. I never got the Chewbacca as it was a store exclusive, heavy and would have cost too much to ship - that and the figure is the same as the one released for the ROTS line (I think)

Of the top of my head, figures released in 96 onwards with the flap are.
Han
Luke
Leia
Ben
C3P0
Stroomtrooper
Darth Vader
Luke X-wing
Tusken Raider (+ variation)
Admiral Ackbar
Boba Fett
Cantina Band (6 of them)
Greedo
ATAT Driver
Lando
Sandtrooper (??)

there are probably a few more

Some 2 packs were released with the flap (it opened upwards)
Luke/Bib Fortuna
Wedge/Biggs
Tarkin/Gunner

After that lot it went to the flapless packaging.

There was also a Tie Fighter Pilot and Luke Bespin and the double pack of Luke and Han as Stormies.

The early European Tri Logo boxes of Luke Farmboy, Han, Darth and Obi-Wan came in the same style box but with no flap on the front.

You also had the huge Han on TaunTaun and Luke with Wampa

Two versions of the 12" Chewbacca were released for the Collector Series. One with a dark blue insert and Vader, Chewbacca, Ben and Luke on the back of the box. They were released in the initial shipment and pulled from cases soon after. Personally, I have heard numbers ranging from 100 - 500 existing. If you scored this for $20.00, congrats on a nice pick-up.

The second and more common version had Lando, Boba Fett, Tusken Raider and Luke X-Wing (I think) on the back. Also, the insert is light blue. Hope this helps..

Greedo
ATAT Driver
Sandtrooper (??)

Greedo was a JC Penney store exclusive

AT AT Driver was a Service Merchandise store exclusive

Sandtrooper with orange pauldron was a Diamond Comics Exclusive.

All 3 were re-released on window (no flap boxes) although the Sandtrooper had a white pauldron and small droid second time around.
