VW splitscreen, one of my mates has one of them they pull some right looks :D
When I brought that they cost next to nothing, I can only dream of getting another they price they cost now, even a Bay window is out of the budget. I really do wish I had kept it, not only because I'd be the king of cool in it 8) but all the memories that bus contained I would say it's really the only car I was attached to. But I still see it at a few of the VW shows and the current owners love it as much as I did/do so that's cool.

Bit of a petrolhead here, but less so these days as I live in London and park on the street.

I've had, in this order:

1985 Astra CL (my first car in the mid/late 1990s)
Lotus Elise S2 (first car I bought myself, straight out of uni)
BMW M5 - bloody epic, although rather thirsty!
Lotus 340R - amazing (although tricky close to the limit), but no roof/doors limited it to fun runs only... got some incredible attention though.
Golf GTI Anniversary - meh (this signalled my move to London when things got a bit boring and sensible)
Focus ST (proper 'sensible' hooligan, but the only car I have ever got car sick in as a passenger)

My current car is a Clio 200 Cup which I use for Sainsbury's runs and trackdays. I also quite often hire a Caterham R300 for trackdays. which helps keep the bug alive and stops me buying something completely unsuited to London life.

Looking at something new next year, but depends on a house move, and if we get a driveway or garage and, most importantly, have any money left over. I'd like a v8 Vantage, BMW 1M, or C63 AMG but it all depends on a lot of factors, so probably unlikely. Maybe the year after.

Hey max,

Which version of the M5 did you have? I had an e46 m3. The m sport division makes epic cars, but the experience of owning one is an unusual thing at best. When i used to take it out and boot it, there was no better feeling. It drank oil and fuel and the dashboard lights might as well have been £ signs. They must have been nearly worn out the amount they were on and off. The thing was so highly strung.

My mates brother has a Ferrari. He reckons it spends between 50 and 60 % of its time not working, and the battery is almost always flat. Think it's about 6 years old so it's not a classic.
