Just realised that the £11k was an auction - thought it was a BIN (and why I thought it might've actually gone higher).

So MrPalitoy reckons it went for less than £11k? But my point is still the same, surely this one goes for less?

There, all makes sense now :D

No, more than £11k.

:)

Jason

Why would someone pay more, unless they didn't win? In which case did they go down the road of being an ass-hat?

I think it was sold to someone else, not the auction winner, or not at that price.

Thats naughty!

Don't know the full details, I checked with Richard a few weeks after the auction ended, and for whatever reason, it had been sold to a different buyer.
That buyer and the price they paid wished to remain anonymous.

Just checking back on my correspondence, the ebay auction was won by a buyer with 0 feedback, so it's likely that the ebay auction ended with a non paying winning bid.

You guys don't know that Anthony (MrKenner) owns the graded Pal VCJ?

Can see it in his limelight: http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1101214/

While he might not want to disclose the price he paid, he is a very nice chap and I am sure he wouldn't mind giving a ballpark value. Try him, he is registered here too.

Great Palitoy collection, good on you Joe for sharing the link! :D

I've often wondered if the Large Head Han's bubble differs at all from the Pin Head one and although I've asked a few people on here about it nobody's been able to verify it 100%. Looking at the picture of the two side by side it looks like the Large Head one does indeed have a slightly wider bubble (which was what I've been told before). It's really good to see such a clear picture of them both and I now feel that the bubbles do differ (I think?!). I also notice that the Large Head had a slightly different looking footer than the Pin Head, another thing that I've noticed with all but one other example of this figure. That said though, after reading about how Mr Kenner acquired the set I'm thinking that it might possibly be someone from here's set (Palitoyman?),so it may well not be another Large Head example but one I've seen before.

Anyway, it's really good to see such nice pictures of a complete set and a big thanks again Joe.

I'd seen that one as well Joe - very understated but there for all to see :D

Thanks for the info, had missed that limelight. Nice to see it back in a full run of 14 along with large head han (yes, the bubble is wider on the large head version). And
nice to know where it is!

:)

Not Richard (Palitoyman), his full set of 20 plus LHH minus VCJ is on ebay for £50k.

Ah, that's interesting Richard... I take it this one from a 2007 auction wasn't deemed actual proof of a VCJ on Palitoy card due to: "cut out on rear to remove figure" declaration? What was the actual year when a MOC Palitoy version was discovered?

That's one of the half dozen or so opened examples (I have one from an ebay auction in a few years ago too).

The Torres example that was eventually graded has been doing the rounds for years, you can see Torres posting about it on rebelscum in the early 2000s.
You could say it was "discovered" when it was finally graded this year!

Hi Guys

There has been a lot of talk about the graded Palitoy VC Jawa figure that I brought. I did not buy it on eBay and worked on the deal for along time. I'm not one to talk about ££ on public forums and don't really want to disclose the price. Put it this way, it was more than the eBay amount but not much.

I'm quite excited about this new find. I believe there will be a lot of interest but I would be surprised if it broke £9-10k. It's not graded and as you can see there is bubble damage.

Glad you like my limelight. Thanks for popping the link over Joe, should really get the limelight sorted over here.

Cheers

Anthony

Thanks for speaking up Anthony.

So we have the AFA 75 at not much more than £11,300.

I said earlier in this thread that I thought it would go for £15K before I saw the bubble damage and then said that would knock £5K off, so I'll stick with £10k given its a Vectis auction and there's been and will be a load of publicity on the piece before auction.

:)

Jason

Vectis add 25% to the buying price don't they ?

So in theory if this sells for £10K then the buyer is likely to have paid more for it than the graded one

Dunno if my estimate included the fee or not, I'll leave that as undecided for a bit of wiggle room.
