Hi all,

I've just picked up a complete vintage 12" Chewbacca and noticed that his Bandolier strap is quite shiny and smooth and has no holes punched next to where the slits are made to fit the cartridges in. After looking on ebay I do see both types of straps and wondered if there are two types?

The one I have is from a made in Korea Chewbacca and here are a couple of examples of what I'm talking about -

Mine - http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAR-WARS-VINTAGE-1978-12-15-CHEWBACCA-COMPLETE-BOWCASTER-AMMO-BANDOLIER-/161317689268?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item258f4897b4

Other version - http://www.ebay.com/itm/vintage-Star-Wars-BANDOLIER-only-FROM-LARGE-SIZE-12-CHEWBACCA-figure-/111364710420?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item19eddaa014

Repro or maybe non vintage version that I can find - http://www.ebay.com/itm/NICE-15-Chewbacca-Doll-w-Bandolier-Bowcaster-Vintage-1978-Star-Wars-12-/310980817290?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item4867e6b18a

One other thing is that this was picked up from a member on here and I'm not accusing them of trying to pass off reproductions as I get the feeling that there are two versions but thought I'd ask to see if anyone knows for sure.

Thanks for clearing that up. It's as I thought although Todd's comment about repros does make me wonder. I'm guessing there are no pictures of those any where?

Just had this exact fear myself. I took it out for a cursory look at point of purchase, all in order, still attached to the insert. Got it home under a decent light and saw the shiny bandolier and panicked! I knew I'd read something about a variant though... this place is so full of information!

It really is such a great place to check things like this as there's always someone out there who is knowledgeable about ever different aspect of these toys. I've noticed other examples of both these types of Bandolier's since starting this thread so I'm completely happy with what I have.
