ZX Spectrum makes a comeback

I'll be getting one just for Attic Attac - Ultimate games were the best 8)

Lost a lot of time to Skool Daze, Rambo, Saboteur, Jet Pack, Airwolf and Everyone's a Wally

Anyone remember Quazatron - it was excellent but I never had a clue what i was doing

My mate had a C64, and although I hate to admit it Rambo was excellent on that

Ultimate games, I remember that software house holding some respect back in the day. 8)

I remember Sabotuer, awesome...

I remember discovering an special room that made you invincible (I think) and then mapping the whole game only to find the game mapped in a magazine the following month

Or was that Sabotuer 2 :?

I had the +3 cos I was a badass. It cost £199 in 1987...
I couldn't find the TV advert but here's a pretty cool one for the +2:

My homage to Mr Sinclair.

nice Jason 8)

Sold a boxed ZX80 and C64 in the past couple of years. Regret it now

Still got my Speccy games and Elite on the BBC - that was a game

Had a Speccy first back in around 83/84 and then later a C64.

Some of my fave games for the Spectrum

Gauntlet
School Daze
Paper boy
Horace & the Spiders (thought the skiing one was a bit crap)
Manic Miner
Attic Attac
Sabre Wulf
Jet Set Willy - Impossible to complete
Chucky Egg
Dizzy
Monty Mole
Daley Thompson's Decathlon
Brian Bloodaxe
Lode Runner
Jet Pack
Chequred Flag

C64

Myth - Egyptian level too tough though
Tusker
Ghouls n Ghosts
Outrun Turbo

My primary school mates had electrons, BBC's and CPC464's. So Speccy was obviously king.

CPC464's...lets at least agree they were shite

I'll stick up for the humble CPC464! Always in the shadow of the Speccy and the C64 but had some games that were better on it than the other two machines!

Still got my +2A sitting in the loft somewhere... think the power pack on it died though.

Still got loads of games for it too.. my favs were ;

Ghostbusters.
Myth.. possibly the best game ever
Operation Wolf
Robocop
Run the gauntlet
Jet Set Willy... even though it was frustrating
Any of the Dizzy games

The list goes on.

Loved Attic Attac, Nightlore, Nightshade, Underwurlde, Sabrewulfe, Firelord etc!

Come on the Commodore was pants compared to the spectrum. The only game it had going for it was attack of the mutant camels.

And that new spectrum is about 40 keys short of a decent game of elite!

:)

Eh? What about Outrun, Double Dragon, Paperboy and IK Plus

Had a crack at IK+ on one of those emulators. It was uncontrollable and I don't think did the original game justice

Agree with you mate, Myth was something else, even the music was class. Some classic knowledge of mythical legends was required at some parts, which was a nice touch to the game

Went round a mates house and played Commando. Saved all my pocket money and cashed in all xmas + birthday juju to get a Commodore 64.
Speccy a fine machine but once that giant beige box landed... no competition! Nice shout out for Gauntlet, although the C64 version looked the part, somehow I remember it being more playable on my mates speccy. :?

I loved Wizball by the mighty Sensi lads. Also gotta mention Beach Head, marvellous.

Got loads of PS1 history discs, long overdue digging out Paperboy and Robotron, but miss being able to have a go at all those old home computer gems. (reminds me - Boulderdash!)

Tirnanog, Everyones a Wally, Pyjamarama, Kokotoni Wilf, Pssst, Knightlore, Alchemist! Oops ive just cum

I had the Speccy +3 too. Never really bought many games as i played the games on cover tapes i bought with "Your sinclair" magazine! Played Nigel mansell grand prix the whole of summer '92. Lemmings was a class game. Multi soccer player manager, Dizzy treasure island, Operation thunderbolt, New Zealand story, World class rugby. I could go on..

I haven't played any computer games since owning a 48K Spectrum... these latest developments in computer software look amazing, but I have no desire to immerse myself in such complicated twiddling and whatnot. This Spectrum Vega looks ideal, I could see myself quite happily losing an entire day playing Jet Pack and Sabre Wulf. Ultimate had great advertising, and really got you chomping at the bit ahead of the next release. Just for old times sake, despite the much trumpeted instant access to the games; I hope there's an option to marvel at the original cacophony of bits and bytes loading...
