When discolouration makes a figure more movie accurate ;-)

Like many collectors, plastic discolouration is the bane of my life. How many of us have bought a MOC or loose figure, carefully looked after it, not allowing sunlight, dust, smoke or any other nasties anywhere near it, only to find after a few years that the bubble has yellowed or the figure's torso has gone brown? I have an entire bag of discoloured loose stormtroopers that used to be gleaming white once upon a time... :(

In short, I despise figure discolouration... or I thought I did until now! We all know Kenner wasn't always the best at reproducing movie-accurate colour schemes for their figures, and the good, if rather dull, General Madine is no exception. His cardback clearly shows his jacket (and hair, for that matter!) was brown, yet his figure mystifyingly came with a grey one!... Well, enter this particular eBay auction for a decidedly non-mint example of the military man, which has discoloured so badly, it actually looks the way Kenner should have made it in the first place! :ROFLMAO:

Great thread, I love the picture. I agree, now it looks like madine in the movie  I don't think I have seen madine before with this kind of discolouration

Sorry to read about all your stormies in the bag that are yellow :(
