anything poch is a grail piece . love the pic and all things poch

Luke Bespin Photo Art. To the best of my knowledge it's not ever shown up so to me it's the perfect Holy Grail. Highly unlikely I'll ever obtain it.

My old Holy Grail used to be an unpainted Luke Bespin Hard Copy but after having it around for a while I let it go. Weird wanting some stuff for years then when its obtained the magic can disappear after a while. Must... Tell...Myself... that I don't need any of this crap I covet really.

Well I would like to secure the Palitoy 30 back Fett and Yoda as I have said before but they are also to complete my MOC Empire set.

Purely a star holy grail piece for me would b a Palitoy 30 back Vader 8)

It's not unobtainable, but I would like a EB sealed certificate and the EB pack complete with stand, all in minty new condition :)

I'd also like a Palitoy Death Star Playset. Two actually, a minty one and a used one for display.

Very true words Grant, some of these grails quite often cease being so "Grail" like once you own them. Or perhaps something else bigger and better attains the Grail status. I'm not saying they cease to be cool and interesting but you stop obsessing over something once you actually have it.

What's really cool is when you have a Grail and find out you all ready own it. :)

I'd always thought the Lando General with blue cape photographed in the Kenner 85 toy fair catalogue was an incredible piece but the blue caped figure had never been found. A few years ago I acquired a first shot Lando General with a light purple cape from James Gallo. Funnily enough it sometimes looked bluer in certain photos depending on lighting and the background colour but it was assumed the figure in the picture was a hardcopy rather than a first shot.

Several months ago I spotted my Lando General in a sales presentation slide and after speaking with Kim Simmons he confirmed it was one of his photo samples and was the actual figure used in the Kennner 85 toy fair catalogue and unproduced 93 back figure grouping. He found a high res scan and we could match thread pulls in the cape material and marks on the figure that showed it was one and the same. There was also wax in the figures hand which I'd never noticed before that Kim had used to hold a grey Luke Jedi blaster in place. Plus I traced previous owners back to Intergalactic who bought it from Kim. He confirmed it was the lighting and background that made it appear so bright blue. It was great to know it had finally been found and that I could give up the search for one of my grails.

Some great grails here and love the Lando story.

Lando with grey blaster in sansweet book is schoolboy stuff.

When I think of holy grails I always try to imagine really unique items that are virtually unobtainable (either because they aren't known to exist or they are never leaving their current location) but it's hard for me to choose just one thing that is without a doubt my holy grail.

In a funny kind of way I think the one thing that seems like it will never ever happen for me in this hobby isn't actually a toy at all, it's just a dedicated and permanent display room  so I'll go with that..

Wait wait wait...having an empty room which you are allowed to fill with toys is NOT a problem

Some great choices and stories.

The ESB VCJ MOC. Not sure if they made a palitoy version just to top it off.

I'd also love to get my hands on Jawa and Madine tris.

Wouldn't most of us like to actually own something that was on screen in one of the original trilogy films? That would sury be the ultimate 1 off collectable. A small piece of panel from some light terminal, a piece of the wire wrapped around C-3PO when he shouts "help, I think I'm melting", one of the Stormtrooper's gloves, anything.

Mine's not that rare, just too bloody expensive - a 12 back Palitoy Chewbacca. Thought I'd lucked out a few years ago and got myself a "shop damaged" one for only 250 quid, but it tunrned out more to be "shop resealed". The seller claimed it had never left the bubble, which could well be true, but it looks like it has.

Here is some food for thought, I have been lucky enough to collect blue snaggletooths , vj jawa , carded yak face and DT Luke Skywalker, however decided to sell them on , because the excitement of hunting for them is better to me than owning them ,

My holy grail is my esb hoth wampa with original box , because it's my only original sw toy from my childhood, somehow the others aren't as special
