WOW What an auction! Includes Carded Vlix and Blue Stars MOC

Next time one of these appears someone pm me. It's about 30 mins or so drive from where I live. I could do a better description for them and p&p.
Unfortunately for this one I don't get home until the 12th or 13th

So being ignorant, how does this sort of thing work? Without stating the obvious that you need to create an account and bit, which I guess is ebayesqu. D items normally go around the valuation etc. a few nice looking MOC's that might demand getting involved in some way.

Matt, never bid at an auction house before but I think it basically works similar to ebay. If they are in a sales room, you will have the guys/gals on the phones taking bids and you will have people watching the online site for bids as well. Create an account as usual and away you go. I think you can bid before the auctions start as well.

Also I assume you have to add anything from 15 to 20% of the final price as auctions fees, which sometimes means the bargain you thought you had isn't such a bargain after all

I think it is around the 20% mark - so if you purchase an item for £100 then you are really looking at £120 so a bargain doesn't always turn out to be that way

I think a lot of the estimates are very low and with the increased publicity that this now has, together with the fact that Trilogos are very popular at the moment means that these will go for some pretty high prices

Ah bloody hell, we dont stand a chance now Nick has seen them!!!!!

Yea auctions are a bit of a con really. My mum took 2 African spears to auction and once you take off all the fees she only came away with about £35, worse than ebay.

Am I being stupid or have i got this right. The buyer pays auctions fees and so does the seller. So are the auction house getting 2 lots of fee's for each item sold???

So I am now guessing that we will all be bidding against each other now?!

You probably would have been even without the auction being outed Bram, a lot of people already knew about it on here and some already have bids in place!

I was thinking that too. Not that I'm interested in any of these carded items. I could pick anything up for you guys to ensure a safe transit from about the 13th August if they'll hold them that long. Next time I'll go down and take some close ups and stuff.

I bid on a couple of the MOC's and have been aoutbid on all of them. Put reasonably high bids on as well. Think there's gonna be some big money flying around these auctions.

I've been watching these all day and am amazed at the prices everything has sold for. I know that the auctions were highlighted on here and RS which has lead to the high prices for the miss cards but even some of the basic cards were selling for silly prices - prices that they wouldn't sell for even before the buyer tax is added

Crazy !
