Yeap, nice chap Suarez. Fantastic footballer, but utter **** of a human being.

You can't be a good footballer and be a total dirty ****ing cheating scumbag.

After the group stage I'm going to be supporting France as I think they will win it.

I forgot about Suarez, what a ****ing wretch!

I did the last two world cup albums, but can't be arsed this time to expensive. Also have USA 94' complete album. :)

I'm after one of those for my collection, empty though because if there's stickers in there they're literally worth their weight in gold.

I have a sealed pack of stickers so far, which i'll display with the album once I find a nice condition one.

Where do you draw the line on "cheating"?
Granted, biting someone is clearly beyond the line, but is diving to win a penalty? In which case Wazza, Stevie G, Ashley Young (especially Ashley young), Wilfred Zaha and 99% of midfield and strikers in the PL are cheats. What about making the most of limited contact to get a player booked or sent off? What about Chelsea and Utd's (and a lot of big European sides) habit of surrounding the ref every single time a decision goes against them or one of their lot is in trouble? What about time wasting?

It's grey area, but I can differentiate between Suarez the person and Suarez the fantastically talented, but flawed, footballer.

Although true about there being thousands of other players that cheat. There are some that simply take it to a ridiculous level and are basically doing it all the time, throughout the match. Be it diving, rolling around pretending to be hurt after a tackle, pretending to have been hit in face, time wasting, cheating hand balls and trying to get others booked.

Suarez, Ramos, and Ronaldo to name a few who simply go too far. The game would be better off without them, no matter how good at the football side they are.

Thierry Henry is the one that I always think about, he basically did a Maradona in the World Cup play off qualifier against the Republic of Ireland I think. He wasn't one you would think of as a player who used gamesmanship regularly but every time I see him on TV now I think of that and how he completely got away with it.

Yeah, I don't disagree. I just wish we could have them and their talent without the histrionics and the general wankerishness (I think I just made that word up) that goes along with it.

Yeap, I hate him as a pundit, he has Ian Botham syndrome. "I was a great player so EVERYTHING I say is incredibly inciteful and everyone listens with bated breath." Wrong. You're a **** pundit who is robbing a living and a smug tosser to boot.
Unsurprisingly, half the people over here love Thierry Henry for his handball and half hate his guts with a passion. Welcome to Norn Iron

England played well tonight, that's it they will win the World Cup now I reckon!

Apparently they are 10 games unbeaten now  That means sooooo much. I bet Spain, Germany, France and Brazil have already been on to FIFA to see if they can pull out. "No point lads, England are ten unbeaten."
Those ten are bound to be top notch sides as well, like Costa Rica.

It wouldn't matter if we had played Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, France and Belgium in those 10 games as soon as we go to a major tournament all the players turn into little boys with two left feet! The players can't say they are tired this time either as all the big nations players have played less minutes than the England squad.

Seriously though I think we have a good chance this time.

The best fact about England is this. We have only ever reached the semi finals of one major tournament on foreign soil and that was at Italy 90 against West Germany.

To save Edd's predictions thread, I thought I'd start a new one.

How bad were Saudi Arabia? They aren't even a poor SPL side. Defensively they are all over the shop. Piss poor is a compliment.
Every WC there are fewer and fewer European sides and yet we get shite like Saudi Arabia. Daft.

Credit to Russia though, I had a feeling they would surprise everyone, host nation and all that. Soudi Arabia were very poor though so hard to judge Russia, although they scored 5 very good goals. If Messi scores that second goal everyone would be creaming their pants!

It is a joke though, you have Soudi Arabia in the World Cup and Italy and Holland sat at home watching, ridiculous.

Yes SA were absolutely terrible, in fact Russia weren't much better, it was like watching a school match. At least Russia didn't have to qualify, how the **** did Saudi Arabia get through when the likes of Holland and Italy didn't?

I dread to think what the standard of opposition was like in their qualifying round!? Unless the Saudis paid them off!!!???

Best Group Stage Match on Paper Today I think ...Portugal vs Spain. Wish Portugal took Ruben Neves, Awesome Player. Dissapointed he's not in the Tournament.

I think why saudi arabia did qualify is because most of the asian teams are not so good.

on this link you can see the asian qualification, just copy the link because the last ) is missing in the link, I do not know why :?

**** me Spain look good. Fair dos to ballbag, that was the definition of 1 man against 11. For once he deserves the plaudits he will get, his team mates really did FA, but that Spain side just oozes quality. There are 7 or 8 of them who would be the star player in 90% of the other teams in this tournament. All would walk into the squads, if not the starting 11, of every other team in the competition.
Portugal on the other hand have one very good player and 10 other blokes. Ronaldo won't be able to do that every game. Ok, he won't need to against Iran or Morocco, but come the knock out stages I think they'll be found out by the first decent side they meet.

Daylight robbery in both the other games. Uruguay were piss poor, as were Egypt. Suarez played like he was out on the piss last night. As for Iran winning that game, nice for them, but thoroughly undeserved. Morocco paid the price for missing a dozen half chances. Those two will be destroyed by Spain and Ronaldo (do we need to say "Portugal" when they are literally a one man team?)

Ohh and so nice to see to my old friend Asspass again. I had almost managed to block his existence out of my mind.

I watched the Ronaldo vs Spain game last night.

What a ****ing pure entertaining game to watch that was, most other games I watch my attention is always kind of drifting in and out as and when the action is happening, but with a game like Spain and Portugal I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

Pure skill and class throughout, sure Ronaldo did 80% of his teams job and his teammates looked a bit lost and fluffed opportunities when they'd realise Ronaldo wasn't next to them  but still some great football to see.

I suspect during this whole tournament it will not get any better than this game unless these two teams meet again during knockout.

I had France, Argentina, Denmark and Croatia to win, ****ing Argentina cost me £70, who would have thought that they wouldn't beat Iceland, specially since missy, sorry messy had a frikking penalty
