Withnail & I Fans

Oh mate that must of been a right bummer.
I've never seen it, I assume I should :?:

Immediately Jez. Withnail & I is one of the greatest films ever. That's all there is to it.

There is! ...sort of.

It used to be a good forum but has slowed down a lot in recent years. There's only so much you can say about one film, and a film with no merchandising at that.

Blimey!
There's something for everyone on the internet!

Barry, what a shame. If it's any consolation, I would have done exactly the same. I've hiked and cycled through many a torrential downpour, and I've now got to a point in my life where I avoid these extreme weather conditions at all costs. I feel my character is built up enough, and I would certainly say yours is too.

Jez, Withnail is a must-see.

Hi Martin

I can see that you've done some cycling  ...and in a tweed suit as well

To be fair the oranisers offered me some sort of deal if I wanted to see another of their outdoor screenings. They are mostly down south so not that interested. Worth a look for some of you Southern chaps - Picnic Cinema. They have upcoming screenings of things like Life of Brian and a spooky 28 Days Later. Past events look cool. People dress up and stuff.

I've just been telling Jez: at the other end of the weather extreme... I climbed Pen-Y-Ghent yesterday in temperatures exceeding 26 degrees... in tweed plus-two's, woollen socks, tweed waistcoat, shirt and tie... how I didn't pass out upon reaching the summit, I'll never know. All good fun, though. I'd like to think Alfred Wainwright would have been impressed with my efforts, and attention to detail

I'll take a look at Picnic Cinema, Barry- sounds like they organise a good 'do'. Shame they can't organise the weather, too!

That is so Withnail and I 8)

Fair play to you Martin. Every English man's God given right to wander up mountains in a breeches, shirt and flat cap. Trusty hound at his side. Hip flask of single malt for emergencies.

We salute you good sir! :)

To anyone who hasn't seen the film my advice is to watch it on your own the first time around. Absolutely pointless watching with the Mrs if she's likely to blabber on throughout the movie ...like mine would

The phenomenal script, locations and fine acting are key to W&I. Embrace it 8)
