You have absolutely done the right thing by joining this community.
I've been part of it now for nearly 4 years and i'm leaning stuff every day. This is the safest place to buy and trade and can be a lot of fun.
Don't worry if you also collect "Modern", there is a dedicated thread to that.
Don't forget to ask as many questions as you need, however the search function is also very good.

Hi there - just came across the forum and wanted to say hi. I'm Jim, 38 year old UK collector and co-founder of now closed Star Wars collecting site wattosjunkshop.com.
I am 4 figures shy of a complete uncarded set, but do have the Palitoy Death Star as pride of place in my collection. I also have a number of opene Palitoy card backs. I also have an extensive collection of Star Wars items and figures from the mid 90s till present.
Loved seeing the Palitoy display room at the last UK Celebration event in 2007 and am eager to see more in London next year for Celebration 2015. Would love to get involved in all aspects of UK collecting with photos or information as needed.
Hope to make some new collecting friends here.

my name is Patrick and I am a collector from Germany. I have started to collect my childhood memories about 6 years ago and it makes so much fun. I am also active in other forums and FB groups, but always more a reader than a writer
This forum was recommended to me because here are so many nice and open people around, which I definitely can fully agree on!!!
What else can I say? I am here for a couple of days and already made a great deal on an item I was looking for
