anyway ,back on topic having a mare at work .boarded and skimmed most of first house only for stairs to be to high .so had to take half of boards of ,some that have been skimmed and wait for joiners to sort it out .
did learn one thing ,i didnt know you had to have 13 steps on a staircase :shock:

Jabba you can have more than 13 steps in a stairs it all depends on ceiling height downstairs and the thickness of the floor above. Old victorian houses have more All modern houses should have 13 steps. But i think the regulations are each step can be and thing for 150mm-190mm I think only reason i know this as i build doorsteps

Our stairs have a flat bit where they change direction through 90 degrees. Technically speaking does this count as a stair, albeit a larger flat stair, or as a pre-landing?

it got a landing half way down .it only had 1800 clearence on way down ,you have to have 2000.nearly took my head off

Just counted the stairs and nearly fell over coming down, 1 too many Stellskis.
Our hosue only has 11 stairs but it's 200 years old,don't reckon they had planning regulations in those days. :?:
