No not that type.

I'm looking at buying a tablet and have little knowledge of what each brand offers, thinking of either an ipad or a Samsung Galaxy. I have a Samsung phone and an imac computer so I'm a little torn between the two.

Anyone on here have either or have experience with both could give their opinions would be great.

Cheers Ryan

Apple!!! I have been using Apple products since the early 90s for design work and personally would not go near their stuff apart from necessity of my work. Just my jaded opinion though
I personally rate the Samsung tablets.

Cheers guys, PC I heard some bad things about the iphone's reliability which is why I opted for the Samsung as a phone and apart from one of their updates wiping everything off my phone I can't fault their ease of use and nothings gone wrong with it thus far.

I use my imac for work as it lends itself nicely to Graphic design and cartooning but I've always been a bit sceptical about apples other products.

Looks like I'm leaning towards the Galaxy then.

Ipad for me, I haven't touched my laptop since buying the ipad

As iPhone and ipad are mainstream applications such as I message for free wifi connectivity with my daughter in Australia has been a god send

It's a little like going out and buying a 3 network mobile having a great deal on connectivity with other 3 network users, but shafted when you use cross network ( ie to voda O2 etc)

Galaxy tablet is nice and user friendly , but it boils down to compatibility with what the rest of the world is using! Mainstream....so ipad for me all the way pal

Plus the cross functionality with your handset ( if its and iPhone) :D

samsung galaxy tab or google nexus mate hands down, stick with android and get 1000's of free apps and games, drag and drop movies and music no itunes ****.

we have them here at work, i had to force them from iphones ect and we havnt looked back since.

also half the price

Wacom Cintiq 24HD :p

Drooooool!!! I have a Cintiq 21 set up on an adjustable arm mount. Your just being greedy wanting the 24HD Jorn! Greed is good in this case

The thing I don't like about the apples is your reliance on having to use apple own apps/products like itunes, as Andy said the android ones tend to give you a lot more freedom for handling your content. I was mainly asking to see if there was any real difference in quality or performance between the two but it seems the Samsung is on par with the Apple and at the moment over here you can get the 10" Galaxy 2 for $294 in comparison the cheapest ipad is a mini for $356 or the ipad 2 for $398. Seeing as I'm cheap the Samsung has it.

Thanks for all the great info fellas, much appreciated.

This is actually what they (Apple) want you to think, but not true at all.

android have the market, even our supplier autodesk have an android app, totally free and makes our live so much easier.

Apple are just running on name, the iphone has been the same plastic trash for years, i do like the mac stuff, but android is just superior in every way in terms of flexibility, apps ect.

Ive got the new HTC One and it blows the iphone out of the water.

I see people saying "im getting the new iphone" like its a flash car, material purchase. when i ask them why they paid £600 for it and what they use it for they say "internet, texting and facebook" i piss myself and walk away. :)

Don't know if already bought the Galaxy Tab Ryan, but the Sony Experia tablet Z looks pretty good also.

Not an Apple fan myself. not saying the products are crap, they just don't live up to the hype and are overpriced. Thats just the hardware, don't get me started on iTunes, Quicktime and Safari!!!!

Each to there own though...

Recently got a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet and love it,glad I didn't get an Ipad.Recently got a Samsung S4 phone too after having Iphones(iphone is like a toy in comparison) for years and I have to say the Samsung products are way better than Apples offerings.Agree with the statements above about Apple, overpriced and overrated.

Cheers for all the opinions fellas, ended up going with the Samsung 10.1 and have to agree it's great. Does everything I need it for and more so a very happy chappy indeed.

Is that the iPhone I got from you

My daughter loves it, hours of fun for her... and in this case not overpriced. :D

At home our tablet is a Blackberry Playbook, good bit of kit and cheap, the app support is not great though. I have ditched this recently in favour of the Wii U Gamepad, not a tablet as such but has similar uses.

It is indeed, glads she's enjoying it.As you know it was mint and i'd rather sell something like that on here rather an anonymous ebayer enjoying it.

Good choice Bluedog. 8)
