Where is Jabba?

Well I half expected to see Jabba on here right now but he is probably drowing his sorrows. :(

Still being a proud Liverpool supporter you have to look at the positives and say we were the best team who effectively lost to a fluke goal. In the summer we can now get rid of the dead wood and rebuild a side to challenge for the title.

Rafa should have brought Crouch on at half time for Zenden and moved Gerrard to the left to see if that helped but they will all learn from tonight and being the second best team in the whole of Europe isn't too bad.

been on mate ,bt my mates round and were drownig our sorrys.
liverpool were the best team but milan did the perfect italian job.zenden should have never played .

Milan looked like a Veterans Charity Match Side in the second half. They still had a touch of quality that we lacked though.

We'll be a different side next year. Not because we'll blow stupid money on players with big names but because we'll be able to buy a good quality winger for say 17m from the continent instead of a 7m winger from Birmingham. Only for example, Pennant could develop into a good squad player but we really should have landed Jaquin or however it is spelled.

Zenden had started to play well the last couple of weeks so originally I was pleased he was fit to play. Arbeloa was out of form, Gonzales has been average all season and Kewell wasn't going to manage 90 minutes so Zenden got his chance.

I just don't rate Kuyt as a striker to be honest. Yes his work rate is good but he spends too much time running wide when it's his job to stay near the centre and give us a threat in the box.

pennant seems to be coming good .the prob tonight was zenden then replacing him with kewel.(how many times he played this season)
i would get rid of kuyt ,he just seems to be a tryer and nothing else

Rafa has the money but will he spend it on a big name striker though?

Crouch has to stay as he gives us an option that no other striker in the world can give us. We are being linked with Owen, Tevez, Eto, Torres and Villa but I have a bad feeling we might get Darren Bent instead !!

Sums up Liverpool at the minute loads of teamwork and running and effort but no real cutting edge. I'd settle for one or two lazy bastards who could hit the back of the net 25-30 time a season. Like Fowler and Owen were in their day.

Zenden looked pretty poor from the start, then got frustrated, then just kept moaning and appealing.

I don't think Joaquin works hard enough defensively for Rafa to consider him. I like Pennant and he will be a key player next year if he stays as Rafa has been after Alves and Sarbrosa for a couple of years now to play down the right.

Don't think that it is Rafa's style. Seems a more conservative manager. When he won La Liga the other year his top scorer had 8 goals. There again he may just be playing a style appropriate to the resources he has at his disposal.

there arnt many 20-30 goal strikers around, myself i would go for bent or defoe.owen is going to manu so they will proberly pay 25 mil for a crock

Either way we need to have a bit of a clear out in the summer. As a fan I really like most of the players and the effort they put in but looking at it objectively, if you were picking a Prem allstars matchday squad of 16, just who would get in. Gerrard, Carragher and maybe Reina.

i look at it with bent that if he can get that many goals for charlton what canhe do for a top side ,and defoe is one opf the best finishers in the league and is being wasted at spurs

We shewdly dodged the Owen bullet. Can you imagine the reaction of Newcastle if he leaves. The chairman was looking for a public statement of loyalty to Newcastle the other week but Owen has been conspicuous by his absence. Can't blame him for wanting to leave though.

I'd have to agree. I was suprised how young Defoe is. He's been around for ages. May want to leave because they have Berbetov now.

For 9m I would be tempted to bring Owen back to strenghten the squad but still bring in 1 or 2 more strikers as well. If you think about the merchandise we could sell with his name on like before it would pay for his wages anyway and would make Gerrard, Carragher and most of the fans happy. I wouldn't give him a guaranteed place in the team every week and he would have to re-prove himself though.

Must just add that I'd rather us be the nearly men every year than lose what it is to be LFC. Really don't want players joining just for the money or that they want to join a sucessful club. It is down to the players to bring sucess for the fans.

Thought the lads done well tonight and they done us proud!! Who would have expected us to reached the final two times in three years.

I think Gonzalez should have been given a chance, he has the pace and certainly the finishing to have troubled the Milan defence. Zenden didn't have a clue and certainly didn't have the legs to outpace anyone on the pitch!

Where's the Kaiser when you needed him??

Don't think he'd be happy with that. Probably why he went to Newcastle. He's garrenteed to be first on the teamsheet there no matter his form. Like Shearer was for the last year or two.
