Where is Jabba?

Thought the lads done well tonight and they done us proud!! Who would have expected us to reached the final two times in three years.

I think Gonzalez should have been given a chance, he has the pace and certainly the finishing to have troubled the Milan defence. Zenden didn't have a clue and certainly didn't have the legs to outpace anyone on the pitch!

Where's the Kaiser when you needed him??

Being a pundit.

Must just add that I'd rather us be the nearly men every year than lose what it is to be LFC. Really don't want players joining just for the money or that they want to join a sucessful club. It is down to the players to bring sucess for the fans.

is that a polite way in saying **** off owen you money grabbing little ****

I couldn't possibly comment. :D

For 9m I would be tempted to bring Owen back to strenghten the squad but still bring in 1 or 2 more strikers as well. If you think about the merchandise we could sell with his name on like before it would pay for his wages anyway and would make Gerrard, Carragher and most of the fans happy. I wouldn't give him a guaranteed place in the team every week and he would have to re-prove himself though.

He's certainly not the player he once was tho (loss of pace is evident)and i think most teams defences have sussed him out.

Don't think he'd be happy with that. Probably why he went to Newcastle. He's garrenteed to be first on the teamsheet there no matter his form. Like Shearer was for the last year or two.
True but Owen has hardly played in the last 2 years and now he has to decide does he want to be in an average side evry week or fight for a place in a side that is a genuine contender for all the trophies.

If he goes to the Mancs I can't see Fergie starting with him every week anyway.

Well Rafa has confirmed Zenden can go along with Dudek and Fowler and they have almost agreed a deal to sell Mark Gonzalez to Real Betis.

Let the Rafalution begin.............. 8)

Personally i don't think he has given Mark Gonazalez much of a chance to establish himself in the first team, hes only a young player with alot of potential and i think would have turned out to be a quality player for us!

tis a shame....

i just want darren bent and a bit more flare in midfield,i know thee is no chance but kaka would fit in sweet along side stevie g

I don't fancy Darren Bent joining, I think he's just an average striker having a great season, like Saha was when United bought him or Marcus Stewart the year Ipswich finished 5th, Kevin Phillips at Sunderland etc etc.
I'd be much happier with David Villa, I reckon he's better than Torres as well.

Consensus seems to be Rafa wants a few wide players as well, I guess along with Simao, Joachim (or however it's spelt) you could probably add Daniel Alves from Sevilla to his shortlist.
There is also talk about him wanting a new centre back as Hyypia is supposedly on his way out.

I guess it will depend on how much money he gets, who he can sell and how reasonably the other clubs price their players when he comes asking.

Ohh and the best team lost last night, but then the best team also lost two years ago. So.....................

Seems to suffer with injuries and is very up and down. We really don't need another Kewell. I think he may have been given more of a chance if we didn't have some money coming but may as well get shut of him now.

The new money should hopefully mean the end of taking a chance on unproven players with potential. Proven players cost a bit more but you know what you are getting. Taking a chance is usually false economy. I'll admit that there have been exceptions though.

I tell you what, you could see just who Platini wanted to win the final. When they were getting the trophy he was hugging and kissing Maldini like he was his boyfriend.

Also why the hell do they hold the finals in these out of the way places. Istanbul, Athens and next year ****ing Moscow.

I know part of it is that it is unlikely that teams from these nations are going to be in the final but why not book say a French stadium and also a German stadium as back up. Nice and central in Europe and easy to get to.

UEFA and FIFA have this bollocks about football bringing nations together though football. Platini only got elected because he was sucking up to the pissy little footballing outposts who for some reason have the same say as proper countries.

People want the big teams and the big players which in turn makes the big money. Imagine if the English, Spanish and Italian FA's decided to split off leaving UEFA to have wanky little competitions contested by the Russian cup winners and Slovakian runners up.

I can see Ford and Sony stumping up the big money to sponsor that shite.

Richest leagues = Best Teams = Big Sponsorship = Products Sold

While I'm on a rant. How about taking some of the tickets off the UEFA officials who are all on an all expenses paid jolly and let the fans have them.

I don't remember the second half of the match, I was too drunk, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't still in the bar when they were getting the trophy, so I can't comment on Platini. Other than to say he is French so he MUST be a wanker!

I agree totally with your last bit, the "UEFA family" **** that! It's the old boys network ****ing the fans over!

Platini was in the Juventus side that played in the 1985 European Cup Final Hysel tragedy (and he scored the only goal from the penalty spot) so I think he does have a problem with Liverpool.
