Where did it all begin?

I was born in '77, and my first SW memory is being on holiday in Scratby, in Norfolk....

The kid in the next challet had a bunch of figures laid out on a blanket on the front lawn, my brother was taking to him and i remember thinking the sword things they had were called Life Savers (after all what the hell is a light sabre to a 4 year old)

I remember later that holiday dad and mum taking us to a toy shop to get figures, and there only being yoda and vader on ESB card backs. For some reason we didn't get them and i've got no idea what our first figures were.

My memory is of seeing ANH and ESB in a double bill at Spalding Odeon (now the site of retirement flats) though that seems an aweful long time for a kid to sit still, so i may be making that up, and then seeing Jedi at the end of a day's shopping in Peterborough (again at an Odeon, now a theatre/venue/bar/restaurant)

My parents got some wicked xmas day pictures with Star Wars junk scattered all over, and my with the most amazed look on my face as i unwrapped A Chewbacca activity book (never mind the MF sitting in the back ground!!)

Found some more pics in my grans albums!!! :D

Here's me and my brothers, you can see I'm holding the Luke stormie, I wonder what figure I'm holding in the water though,
can't remember this at all....

And the Christmas I got the Falcon, can you see the awesome box????? 8)

Nice He-man, SW combo :D

Can't beat it, SW, He-Man and Action Force was a big hit at my house!

I found a pic of me with a couple action force figs as well, but forgot to bring it home with me.

I was born in 72.

I can remember getting excited about seeing the figures an older neighbour had. I also remember watching a programme about Star Wars on TV and the day I first went to see it. Much of it is hazy and I can't remember which of those 3 came first, but which ever, I was hooked very early on and remained so until 85.

Reignited at Uni while I was reading the first Zahn book in 92. Luckily I kept all my Star Wars toys!

Collecting began in 93 when my then girlfriend bought me some Imperial Figures she saw at a carboot sale. She said there were loads there all around 50p.

Just about every sunday I could, I was at various carboot sales buying as much as I could afford! It all went from there. First collectors shops, then shows, then ebay and finally via forums!
