I was born in '77, and my first SW memory is being on holiday in Scratby, in Norfolk....
The kid in the next challet had a bunch of figures laid out on a blanket on the front lawn, my brother was taking to him and i remember thinking the sword things they had were called Life Savers (after all what the hell is a light sabre to a 4 year old)
I remember later that holiday dad and mum taking us to a toy shop to get figures, and there only being yoda and vader on ESB card backs. For some reason we didn't get them and i've got no idea what our first figures were.
My memory is of seeing ANH and ESB in a double bill at Spalding Odeon (now the site of retirement flats) though that seems an aweful long time for a kid to sit still, so i may be making that up, and then seeing Jedi at the end of a day's shopping in Peterborough (again at an Odeon, now a theatre/venue/bar/restaurant)
My parents got some wicked xmas day pictures with Star Wars junk scattered all over, and my with the most amazed look on my face as i unwrapped A Chewbacca activity book (never mind the MF sitting in the back ground!!)
