When is an unpunched card, not a unpunched card?

Bought a carded figure a while back which was described as unpunched. When it arrived, it had blatantly been punched but someone had tried to disguise this by filling the hole in with another punch - it wasn't a precise fit and the card image was off-centre - i.e. the lines on the punch didn't match the card. Disappointing. Anyone come across this? I've left it as unpunched... and saved the punch itself incase I get another card which it might fit better!
