What are you reading right now....!?

EVERY ****ING NIGHT. EVERY NIGHT. Just once, can we do something else…..no.

Sensible books I have read recently,

Neuromancer - utter utter dog shite, one of the worst books I have ever read, worse than Paw Patrol. If someone gives you a copy and says you might like it, punch them. Hard.
One second after - great if you like dystopian novels.
Ghost Brigades - very good, and only a semi sequel to 'Old man's war' same galaxy different characters.
Metro 2033 - great premise and bits of it are very good but it drags and in general takes too long to not really go very far. It could just be me, but I find books by Russian authors to be very differently paced, ie slow and wordy.
The church of fear - Scientology is a ****ED UP wacko excuse for a cult.
The fall of Numenor - Not bad, a lot more readable than the Silmarillian, but that doesn't say much. If you like LOTR's tiz a fine add on. Not a patch on LOTR or the Hobbit, but good extra background details.

And a load of business books that I doubt anyone has any interest in, Shoemaker, Onward, Pour your heart into it, and Grinding it out.

Just finished, Under the Dome by Stephen King.

**** me it's overly detailed. Nearly 900 pages, which could easily have been 300.

The story is fine, albeit the ending is pish but I read it for the 'how society copes' element rather than 'where did the dome come from?'
If you read it for the latter aspect, prepare to be very disappointed……after reading 900 pages of superfluous detail, about superfluous detail.

Characters are mentioned, we hear their life history, all about their relationship with their wife, what they had for dinner Thursday week ago, and then they die and are mentioned once or twice in passing. That happens about a dozen times. **** knows what the editor was doing but clearly they didn't have scissors/a "delete" button.
