Bummer Edd, real gutted to hear this, I hope to god its nothing I have posted :|

I to am more than happy to donate toward this fine cause, though I think the porn adverts would be a nice touch & salt in the wounds for google, be nice to beat them at there own game so to speak.

If there is anything at all I can do to help just say & regard it done, except naked photos of myself that is as you want to keep some members :lol:

Haha it's not far off - they refuse to enter in to any discussion about account disabling, so it is like talking to a brick wall! Looks like there's nothing I can do about it.

I have no idea how they found it, they have bots crawling the site every day and no doubt have some sophisticated image reading software so it's more than likely not somebody 'grassing' thankfully. That would be a real kick in the teeth.

Appreciate the offer of donations but I don't think it's fair to charge people to use a 'free' website, it's one of my gripes with some other forums. The revenue the ads made from this site was trivial but one of my other sites made quite a lot so that's the main reason it's a problem. I should have removed the ads from this site last time it happened.

Are there no other ad providers? I know the football forum I frequent has loads of tits/arse/fannies all over the place and they have ad banners.

And if we are now allowed to post 'risque' pictures could we have a NSFW feature? I don't fancy getting the sack when reading about vinyl cape Jawas and a cumshot appears!

I wholeheartedly agree with a donation, or alternatively maybe everyone (who wants to) could club together and shout you a free ticket for CE2? That way the forum is still free, it would just be a nice gesture?

I'll echo the thoughts of others and I would also be happy to pay a fee but I understand where you're coming form with detracting new members. I guess if you made it a voluntary thing most members on here would be quite happy to chip in.

Can you place your own ads up Ed? There are some people on here who run small business's who may be interested. Myself included.

Edd, let it remain a free website, and don't charge people a fee, but why not let the people who want to, put some money in a pot. You, can then put half the money collected towards a monthly comp prize, and use the other half to develop your site's and attract new sponsors.

****, never checked this thread for a while - that's really bad. There's got to be a way around this. Is it the site what's band or the owner's details? Surely setting up a new account in a 'family members' name and transferring all of the details over will get around it?

I'm more than happy to pay a donation too but don't think it should be a fee on sign up as we'll lose a lot of 'what's this worth' threads and 1:31,875 are worth it!

Unfortunately they're quite clever, so any new account that shares anything with my banned account (name, address, bank details, the websites it was advertising on etc) will also get banned. So even a new account in some random person's name couldn't post ads on any of my websites. Basically there's no way around it.

I too was hoping there was some way around it... a change of web-site name. A alternative bank account, email address etc etc. Shame you can't get round it that way.

The 2nd thing that keeps being mentioned is alternative advertising. Surly google aren't the only ones you can use??

Alternatively, i think what BluDog mentioned is a very good idea. Sell the advertising space to members. Either have 2 or 3 ads combined or have a rotating banner "rented". Not only would it solve the revenue problem but also help members expand and provide exposure for their business.
It's a thought.
