BTW, Welcome to the boards, burnsy! 8)

What's your focus, how's the collection coming, how did you find us, and most importantly what footy team do you support!?

Cheers for the welcome Weasel. Was a star wars collector as a kid and sold all at a car boot sale in my eraly teens for a stupid amount. Started collecting again last year. I'm 20 figures away from a full collection of loose vintage with weapons. Have started collecting carded, have about 25. Want to get some graded soon, looking at UKgraders but not sure may go AFA.
Have a good collection of boxed vintage vehicles but boxes are pretty shabby. Have a good collection of carded Power Of The Force figures. I have a 3 and a half year old son who has been brainwashed to love star wars and transformers. He has a large collection of originals from both of these that he plays with. Just got a job lot of POTF loose figures through and I was really impressed. Some of them are great figures.
My aim over the coming months - complete my vintage loose and get some decent display cabinets (love the protech mirrored wall hanging one - any body got??) And maybe get some carded figures graded. Loving this site.

oppps

i forgot to say welcome on my last post

sounds like you got quite a collection there too

I'm amazed by the knowledge you guys have on variants etc. I thought I knew quite a lot but after finding this site and reading through some of the threads I've learnt loads. More time on my laptop..my wife will be happy. If i'm not careful could be grounds for divorce soon. She won't be getting her hands on my collection though!

ahh the old sold it all at the car boot mistake   that rings a bell with nearly everyone on here .i bought a coloured portable for my c 64 with the cash i made on my star wars .....he man ..... ..........and transformers  stuff ,well cant live on regrets you can only buy them back

if you dont plan on ever selling your collection why get them graded :?:

i knew **** all about variants till i came to these boards...

i thought it would be cool just to get the rarest variant of each figure back then, but now im hogging any variant i can find

Good point about the grading, I'm not sure. I suppose to keep them minty, minty and enhance the value. Obviously they will be sold one day, whether by me or my kids. It would be nice to eventually have a full set of graded loose figures (may take some time...)

Welcome Burnsy

If you want to keep your colelction mint you could always buy some acrylic cases, UK graders sell them too.

I've seen that mirrored case you mentioned, its great but the US postage always put me off. IKEA cases seem to be a popular alternative

Thanks Spoons, I was in bloody Ikea at the weekend as well and didn't think to look. I really do want a couple of thosae mirrored cases though, they look class. Having a fight with the wife about where they can go at the mo.

I've been allowed one Ikea cabinet on the landing, and two display shelves in the front room - I want to convert my loft and have a 'museum' but can't really justify the expense

i will never go to ikea again ,horibble ,horrible place .
spoons we were gonna gonna do our loft ,would have cost next to nothing but the regs killed it as there would have been no room left, gutted

cant you floor it, put stud walls in, but still use a temporary ladder - then its still classed as a loft, just a smart one?
