VC Jawa going cheap...yeah right :)

arent 90 grades more popular with loose figures?

and yeh I've seen a few Jawa's for much much cheaper
 
They do go for more as 90 grades, but i would much rather have a VC jawa moc AFA 80 than a loose one, i personally wouldnt pay much more for a 90 than i would an 80/85 you are talking anal defects like a spot of paint missing. It doesnt matter to me, especially to jump from £300 for an 85 to £2100 for a 90 :)
 
Whats even more silly is its a U90.

I'd rather have him on a beater card than U graded.

From the sellers point of view he's probably hoping to get more than he would for a beater.

There can't be that many U graded VC jawa's out there?, if you were going for a set of U90's then would you be willing to pay 2k for one, i know i wouldn't!

I agree, some loose collectors may be picky but i really dont care for U grades, its all the same to me, i like 85's as a rule but i have come across 80's that are in good nick.

As for paying stupid prices, i think i opened a discussion about this before but i dont think in the slightest i would pay any more for a U90 than i would a 90, i know robbie has tons of loose u grades he lists at £350 ect it may be the way to go to make money within the vintage world...buy beaters and get them U graded :)

there is a nice AFA 80 Jawa Moc for £2800 which is too high but its a bloody lovely piece and you could probably get it for £2300 if they are desperate to sell.

that u90 isnt even in the same league in terms of rarity so how it can be worth £2100 is beyond me, i would think £400-£500 but i wouldnt pay that, id rather have an 85 for £300.

Im not having a go at u grade collectors, its each to their own, i just think to myself "you must be bonkers paying that" when i see them listed.

u grades do sell for extreme prices, like i said ive seen u90 power droids sell for £350, u90 amanamans sell for £290......i dont understand but if you can get any where near that price you are onto a winner.

Id love a carded VC jawa, its my all time want along with a full set of boba fett carded figures
 
I would do the same as you Ron with the carded jawa.
Regarding the loose vc jawa, the hard to find u90's do make big money. The last U90 vc sold for a similar price to what I'm asking. There are alot of dedicated u90 loose collectors out there........
 
I wouldnt sell it for any price, they hardly come up at all nowadays and not at an 80 grade.

if the finacial climate keeps shrinking some collectors may part with theirs just to stay afloat which is a sad thought.
 
One thing I have noticed recently is that rarer (or higher grade) star wars stuff has gone up a notch in terms of prices......Brians toys recently sold an afa 85 DT carded luke for around $10000 (you could have bought it last year for $5000-6000), the harder to find u90's go for crazy money, i have been looking into possibly buying an afa 85 star wars white tie but prices have gone through the roof.

Ron, these things always sell, it just takes time......
 
I think if i did sell it. I would regret it. It still fits in with my focus. My focus is on SW only. Not intrested in ESB,ROTJ,POTF any more just about sold everything i had
