No jay, you have missed the point, Ian brown isn't iconic for being a solo act he is iconic for his part in the stone roses. It doesn't matter what he does live as a solo artist because he isn't iconic for that.....

the band was made up of 4 members prefame one of which is no where near as good as the other 3 musicly aka ian, so much so infact a lot of shall we say engineering was required on that 1st iconic album around the vocals which helped it into the dizzy iconic heights its reached. :wink:
so therfore the band as a singular (a whole) although now iconic and superb the band is still and was slitely flawed by one members lacking ability. who just happened to be athe all imortant front man.
so l will say it again ,the stone roses do indeed prove and should prove to you or anyone that you DONT have to be completely on top of your game like you insisted to be an icon .
if you did have to be completely top of your game as you say the roses may never have made it .ian wouldve been booted out and laughed at and the band told to get a newbie in to replace him asap but he werent and the magic happened so i say thank **** you dont have to be perfect or that debut album may never have been made

sorry folksJay i am sorry it doesn't, Ian browns solo career is nothing to so with why he is an icon. He is an icon for his time with the stones. That first album was the top of "there" game its why its so good and second coming wasnt, without the stones Ian Brown wouldn't exist, and no album produced after 1982 hasn't been massively modified in some way. I have a different view to yourself so I will respectfully agree to disagree.

"**** me" yes! you keep talking about how flawed and lacking in talent he is, I disagree with this, you have stated constantly this is shown in his solo career something I also disagree on. "The stone roses" was the top of his game. By your own admission He hasn't produced an album as good either on his own or with the roses that "was" as good as they got and its why they are iconic.
