So cos of all the Kenner_Babe chit chat here the last few days, I thought I would check out this Toyhunter show. Downloaded, sorry urrrmm SkyPlused, a few episodes and watched them last night.

I liked it. Of course it's staged. Not so good acting with the 'Whaaatttt! You've been holding back on me...' and the ' Do you know how much this is worth' (which clearly they do) stuff. But I like Americans and I like toys and I like Jordon. As a trader myself, I identified alot in the way he did business (except for all the 14 yr old girl thing of course).

Just one question, does the hot red headed 'assistant' turn up again? She was nice.

In light of everything that just happened...I will be avoiding that show. It was fun to watch...staged..and I think the assistant is also one of those things that was staged/ hired for the show. To each his own...it has entertainment value.

:) I did the same, watched the first one with the rocket firing bowba fett  was exciting in terms of seeing what toys were going to be unearthed but way too over the top for my liking, but that's the American format........ Knowing that he already knows what is in those boxes before we get to see it kind of spoils it somewhat and the way he handles those vintage boxes is shocking, surely a little more care

For the shear pleasure of seeing minty vintage sw items it was worth the watch.

Any of you dealers thinking of putting yourself on the box???

I manged to watch a few of these which are all on YouTube. The ****ing guy got right on my tits after a while so I couldn't watch any more of them.

Much like those Chivecast things on SWCA, really interesting content but the presenting ruined it for me

Yeah Chivecast .. "What do you think Stteeevvveeeee" .. que Steve repeating and agreeing with everything that's just been said.

Anyway I'm only a couple of episodes in but I like the fella. But then I like anyone who's passionate about a subject. Mind you I'm also liking the fat fella from Man V Food and Judge Judy. Maybe it's a balance thing from all the Eastenders and Period Dramas my misses keeps making me watch.

Dog the bounty hunter anyone??? :p

Love it :D i can even handle the bible bashing crap which would normally drive me mad..... but on a serious note they really do a great job trying to rehabilitate the villains, even if it is by macing them  dog reminds me of james hetfield from metallica and i loved them when i was younger :) oh and the south park episode is ****ing hilarious

I couldn't get enough of that show.....then Dog got into trouble and the show was ended. Loved it.

Got in trouble how?

Never seen that many but when I was in Florida a couple of years ago it was always on whenever I woke up and I got a bit hooked

I'm pretty sure he got in major trouble with a bounty that fled to Mexico and he went and got him and ended up getting arrested for kidnapping or abduction?!

Think in the end his son(s) end up falling out with his wife and leaving to form their own bounty hunter company.

Sure it's staged, the costs of production are too high to just leave things to chance, and some of the info is generalised but its not made for me and anything that helps as a 'stepping on' point for people into collecting is a good thing :)
From my perspective working in more than one area of collecting and retail, I've seen a sharp decline of interest in Star Wars over last few years, so it's great to see material like this and Chivecast drive interest and awareness.

That's not to say things don't come out of the woodwork, they do, yesterday I had a customer walk in to the store and show me his childhood Blue Stars and backing card, before Christmas the sculptor for all the animals for Sindy at Pedigree came in and earlier in the year I hooked up with an airbrush artist that still had original works of packaging art for Transformers, GI Joe, My Little Pony and other Hasbro/ MB board games. That was all in a year, enough to fill half an hour with wide enough interest? Probably not, and that's the trick :)

Dave- is that for the modern stuff or vintage as well?

The guy on that toy hunter needs his head ****ing cracked, bloke pisses me right off with sayings like "toygasm"

He is the exact reason my mates think I'm a geek

All that being said I don't dislike the show at all, just dislike that muggy little prick....
