Toyhunter

Might have to check out you tube but to be honest I think it might annoy me, I have gimmick catch phrases.
But then again I recently got hooked on a show called Hollywood Treasure
Kind of cool, again staged but some of the prices that movie memorabilia goes for is staggering....

The guy on that toy hunter needs his head ****ing cracked, bloke pisses me right off with sayings like "toygasm"

He is the exact reason my mates think I'm a geek

All that being said I don't dislike the show at all, just dislike that muggy little prick....

No pint for you.

Also along the same lines was storage wars(i think that's what it was called) buying abandoned storage lockers, it's amazing what would show up, and the way it was all arranged, and the 'fights' that would break out!!

Got hooked on that!! :?

Storage Wars is great, haven't watched for a while....

What a Twat Dave was Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!

The only part of Storage Wars I liked was the stuff they would find, all the fighting and arrogant behaviour
made it a horrible series.
I made it through the first show, but the spin offs was just as bad, if not worse.

Yeah American Pickers is the best of the lot. You don't get any fabricated drama and the things they find are genuine (by the looks of it). There are a lot of "plants" in Storage Wars, Toy Hunter, Auction Hunters (worst of the lot. Every single storage room they "find" is "stacked"). I enjoy Pawn Stars a lot too. Altho they mess around with a little bit of fabricated drama they're not really hiding that they're doing that and altho 'walk-ins' are often pre-arranged by the producers the deals do seem genuine.

Any of you guys seen the Canadian version of American Pickers called cash cowboys?

They've had some Vintage Star Wars on there before the dude with the Cowboy Hat and coat shits me a bit but as a show it's not too bad. Actually enjoy seeing them drive around Canada's amazing scenery more than anything.

Saw a British one on TV a while back bit can't remember the name, the bloke hosting was a complete and utter arrogant ****. Treated the people he was buying from with distain and gloated at how much he'd ripped them off after the fact. Wish I could remember the name.

That sounds familiar, come on give us the name...

Watched a few of the toyhunters on you tube last night and to be honesty I did quite enjoy them. I will quantify that by saying I enjoyed seeing the toys and suddenly want to go to Cincinnati for my holiday this year :) loved the rocket firing fett all the M.A.S.K stuff and the Jurassic Park Dino's.
However, while Jordan turned out to be quite watchable the show suffers from a total lack of drama. The sums of money involved are pitiful for the most part and the premis seems to be on his out ROI which just isn't interesting. In the pilot he acted as a broken for the thundercats toy which the owner said he was selling to pay tuition fees, this is much more interesting viewing as it humanises the hobby and adds a real life drama element and also as a focus would show the toyhunters using his skills to help other rather than just himself, also creating toy auctions and brokering deals makes for more dramatic viewing. I mentioned the show Hollywood Treasure earlier and that is exactly what they do, broker and auction off very high value items normally for people that need to raise the money for other things (profilesinhistory.com).
I will watch a few more of these just to check out the toys but more background than foreground TV, however, if they could beef up the sums of money involved and create a stronger human/drama element to make the audience care about the outcome of the show that would make the show much better - IMO ;)

Plan. Buy them cheap and sell them back to yourself. Best of both worlds.
