I have seen 3 Yak Faces sell this morning on eBay yet people insist that they are rare.

I don't get it.

Like VC Jawa's the Yak Face was rare pre-internet. Its legacy, like the VC jawa has continued.

I'd like to ask what do you think the rarest complete LOOSE figure is from the LAST 17?

(I will leave out some figures from the poll as they are obviously not as rare)

R2 pop-up saber is the rarest and most difficult complete figure to get now. It's getting to the point where I may consider trading a Yak to get one. (not yet though...)

I found it easier to get a complete R2 than a Luke Stormie with the correct blaster, the dam thing still eludes me!

To be fair, it only the sellers claiming that Yak Face is "rare" to help their sales. I've never actually heard a collector describe Yak Face as rare.

I often ponder; what is the rarest figure in good-mint condition. That is often a much trickier question.
I don't think any of the last 17 are rare. I can buy 3 of any one of them today. Luke Story and Pop Up R2 are arguably slightly harder to find.
But in good to mint condition, R2 (clean sticker etc), Luke (not yellowed) and Han Carbonite (with no hair damage) are like rocking-horse ****.
I have about 16 mint Yak Faces.

Yeh I was going to say condition is an important factor.

The only time one can refer to the Yak as being rare is finding him on a mint POTF card with a clear bubble :!:

Were Yaks, with their non-Stateside release, made in considerably fewer numbers? Maybe, so probably him, but am incredibly fortunate to have my Yak and R2 (with sabre), from my childhood. Neither are super minty but why upgrade when I've had them for so long? 8)

Plumped for Luke Stormy as I am in need of his gun. Blast that blaster seems to elude me!

I do not consider any of them rare. But R2 pop-up complete can be a challenge. Most have no saber or repro saber.

Agreed. You can pick them all up anyday of the week. Obviously price and condition will impact price more and R2 saber is a tough minty to find.

i voted r2, as a newb i allways thought yakface was the rarest, as i got further into collecting i could see that a complete R2 in decent condition was harder to find

I voted R2 as well.

Good point made on condition

R2 white clean decals and shiny dome along with original saber makes it a hard one.

I voted a wing pilot, it's getting increasingly hard to find one free of paint rubs, which they seem really susceptible too, and the correct black blaster. Glad I did my loose last 17 run a while ago now.

R2 pop up is the only figure (excluding variants) that I don't have. No real desire to own one, and don't fancy my chances of picking up a genuine complete example.

Been keeping an eye in these lately as need to pick a few up.

Yak Face seems to be readily available just demands a high premium.

The hardest I'm finding are an R2 in mint condition with original saber is tough but also a decent condition EV -9D9 seems to be getting harder to find, many appear to have dodgy arms.

For me the trickiest to find was EV9D9 in good nick, so many arms fallen off! Then again as a lot people said, if youre prepared to pay, none of them are very rare.

Need to differentiate between loose and carded. You can easily pick up a R2 carded if you've got the dough. Loose is another matter as there will be some wear to it. Same goes for the Gunner, A-Wing Pilot and Luke Stormy because of their black weapons.
