Test of the Palitoy waters now...

Has anyone reported him to ebay for shilling yet? I suggested to him it was likely that had already happened given the number of
pissed off swfuk members posting about it.

Have read house_cleaner/Ian the riot act on ebay. Will see what he has to say for himself.

cheers Jason

Ian? Ian is Palifan on here, I'm confused Jason!

Ian is the name of the guy who clears houses. I contacted him about one of his cards last week and he put Ian at the bottom of the ebay message.

cheers Jason

You only have to click on the contact details at the bottom of one of his listings to find out his name, address, phone number and email address.

His name is Ian Middleton

Looking forward to hearing his reply (if you actually get one Jason), well done for calling him on with it.

Bloody Ian's, untrustworthy lot!

He has reported me to ebay for suggesting he has shill bid his own auctions. He did acknowledge that the bidding patterns were odd
and blamed disgruntled members of this forum for bidding up the auctions so nobody would win. He says none of the high finish
price auctions with shill type bids on them have been paid yet.

cheers Jason

And I somehow doubt they will.

After a quite frankly rude and offensive email from Jason, regarding my listings on eBay, I decided to see the comments that were being posted about my Star Wars card backs.

Firstly to be referred to as a c*nt in one post is not very becoming and I am in no doubt that this member would not say it to my face - as it is easy behind a username.

Below is the message I received from Jason;

Hi Ian, was looking forward to bidding on this dsc palitoy card, but it's fairly obvious to everyone bidding on your cards (well everyone on swfuk) that your cards are going for stupidly high prices because you are shill bidding on the auctions. You are likely to have been reported to ebay multiple times
for doing this, as a lot of group members were very pissed off at your actions.

The dsc currently stands at £51. Can you unshill the bids you have put in on that and give the auction a fair chance of having a genuine winner?

Have to say I am very disappointed too, as this was a cardback I need for my collection (I have over 400 unique palitoy cardbacks), and it is a shame
that it looks like it will not be joining my collection.

cheers Jason

My response;

Jason,

Firstly, I find your comments not only upsetting, but offensive and have therefore reported your email to eBay.

The prices these items have been bid to is ridiculous and I have yet to be paid for a single item or had any contact from the buyers. One ebayer was highest bidder on all the items last night and the 5 today were assorted bidders, not bidding one of them - which is instantly suspicious.

I suspect that certain parties are purposely bidding on these backs to push them out of reach of other interested buyers with no intention of paying for them. Probably disgruntled "members" of groups such as SWUK, where it seems from your remarks, spite, jealousy and misinformation are rife.

Ebay are more than welcome to look into this situation, as I have nothing to hide and it might put a stop into what I suspect is happening and ban these bidders as they have disrupted my auctions. I have answered many, many questions regarding these backs and declined as many requests for "buy-it-nows" using up much of my time - this response included. If I do have to relist them I will then have to go through all this again.

I hope this answers your unfounded rumours and slanderous remarks.

Ian Middleton

As you can tell by my tone, I am annoyed with the way Jason/your concerns have been dealt with and with what has been said about me on this forum - which are all unfounded lies. I have not run-up the prices on these backs, nor any of my previous auctions. It appears that I have been the real victim in this whole episode, not you, and only time will tell if these bidders will honour their bids. If not then I will have to relist and spend more of my precious time answering queries and refusing countless "buy-it-nows".

If, as we all suspect, that some of these purchases do not go through, then I will happily disclose the eBayer's usernames, real names and addresses (as provided by eBay) to this forum for you to consult.

I really hope that this puts an end to your petty, unfounded comments and personal attacks on me, my character and my dealings.

Why the hell would we want to do that when some of us want these items - madness!

£1526.43 for the first 12 card backs!!!!!!!

Surely if they aren't paid for they'll be relisted if the second chance offer isn't taken up?

Thats a fair enough response. We've all seen loads of auctions get messed over because someone decides to ruin it with daft bids.

I'm guessing the early winners are just clowns and won't pay so starting over would probably be best because you've got no idea how many people have been put off by the way the auctions went.

Posting the ebay id's and names would be a good idea. I'm betting none would be people on here - these forums may look like a bear-pit but I doubt anyone on here would trash those listings, they just want a fair chance at the items.

Fair play to the seller coming on here.

The 49 feedback bidder is lead bidder on the 20 backs now, so I would say these will go for silly money too (see the Hammerhead one - )

If these two bidders have ruined your previous listings why haven't you blocked them from your current ones? :?

I'm glad the seller has come on here to defend himself....

but it's fairly obvious to everyone bidding on your cards (well everyone on swfuk) that your cards are going for stupidly high prices because you are shill bidding on the auctions.

Where is the proof?

(well everyone on swfuk)

I wasn't aware there was an official spokesman for everyone on swfuk?

Have to say I am very disappointed too, as this was a cardback I need for my collection (I have over 400 unique palitoy cardbacks), and it is a shame

Sour grapes perhaps?, it amazes me sometimes that people think they have the right to own a item

Do not take this as a personnel attack on anyone, but come on guys what's going on?!?!?!

"innocent until proven guilty"

Fair play to the seller for coming on here - eBay can be a minefield and it is often easy to jump to the 'shill bidding' conclusion but we don't have all the information

In respect to banning the bidders - if they are still bidding on the other items then I guess that the seller still has to hope that they are genuine and will pay at the end.
