Taiwan Boba Fett Blaster?

I found 5 in my collection, sorry that I do not know where I have the other 4 from. I have received them before I began to write down who I received them from.

To me it looks like there is at least 2 different colors a light and a dark one.

What do you think ?

Hi Lars, great picture and I agree with Palifan that 1 & 3 look lighter, they look blue and the others look to be the blue/grey. Maybe the Blue/grey is droids and the blue ones are packed with the ROTJ, that 77 back looks blue to me or maybe there both found with both.

Which one came with the Fett from Soren Lars?

I remember these blasters being stated as black/grey with the Droids Boba before (even though they do look more blue/grey looking at the pictures). The fact that Soren's one is the more blue makes sense seeing it came from a Jedi card so maybe there's something in that.

Maybe you are right about that Ian, so the dark ones could be from Droids and the light ones could be from ROTJ. I can try to take pictures and compare them with a normal blue/black blaster and a blue blaster. If you guys want to see that ?

That would be good as the grey/blue one is always tricky to figure out from photo's. It's a shame you don't have a sealed Droids one to know for sure about this colour thing.

Someone did link a picture of their Droids MOC to verify the blaster sculpt but I think it was tricky to tell the colour. Maybe the owners of these lovely pieces can take a close look for us?

One other bonus about this thread is that I've just noticed my sabre is half lit, yippee!

So if Soren's is the dark one off a Jedi card, then the lighter one underneath could be the Droids Fett version? Of course it could also be from a later Jedi card back or these blasters were the final issue for Boba and came in what ever plastic they had last in the factory.

I think the only real way to know is by seeing all the MOC Fetts that people have in their collection......yeah, I'm not sure we'll get much luck with that but it does seem like this was the last blaster variation at least.

Another great picture Lars, It' the darker one thats thought to be the droids exclusive and until this thread two colours was not even known to exist It 's now a fact that both are found with Taiwan Fetts carded. Could also be degradation of the plastic but if not then I'd say they are both possible with any Taiwan Fett.

As it's always hard to totally tell from pictures I'm thinking that the blaster looks to be the grey black version. Maybe if you've got a loose Luke stormtrooper and dark blue/black imperial one you could put them next to it to see the colour difference?

I was fortunate yesterday to examine a carded 65a "Made In Taiwan" Boba Fett and I was surprised to see that sure enough, this "sharp detailed" blaster goes even further back then first thought! At first, it was thought to be a reproduction, then exclusive to the Droids figure, then user "Palifan" found it on a 77a and now here is documented proof that this blaster goes back to the 65a! At this point I think it's safe to assume that all "Taiwan" Boba Fett figures should be paired up with this particular blaster... Enjoy!

Great to see that there are even more examples of this blaster on older card backs. I'm thinking that it's maybe not quite as rare as first thought although maybe the more black in colour ones are (Droids maybe?)?
