Distancing the podcast from the forum is a good move I think. I did find it odd how the "sponsored by vectis" logo had appeared on the podcast graphics yet they 'vectis' seem to get a lot of flack on the forum.

Good luck with future podcasts whatever they are called and in keeping the podcasts true to there original roots. I'm sure nobody here wants to listen to a 90 min + advert blowing some auction houses trumpet !!

I don't think anyone's trumpet has been blown with regards to Vectis.. on the market section we talk about the items for sale (have done since the 1st podcast), maybe go over the estimates or the final sales, and thats it really. Other auction houses who have stuff get a mention too. But at the moment, Vectis have been showing some crazy stuff that cannot be ignored. They havent dictated any content on the podcast aside from suggesting edits on the original Kathy interview several podcasts back. Nothing more than individuals express post interview.

jason.. stop. Most words / names we could use are not going to be original." Vintage" and "rebellion" are going to cross over many fields. However, we are a vintage themed star wars collecting podcast.. I dont think we'll be infringing somebody elses identity. Its also technically not a commercial entity, aside from trying to raise funds for freebies, hosting etc.

The statement from a couple of posts up stating all Americans are "****ing stupid" is massively offensive. There are many Americans who use this forum as their main collecting forum and every one of the ones I've dealt with have been top stand out blokes, think that comment from a Mod is a little disappointing to be honest.

Yeah- good post Stu, have to agree that all the Americans i met in Anaheim were legends.

Yes, but remember you are changing names because the swfuk podcast name had problems with it. One of those problems wasn't it being a unique web hit. The new name has that issue. What if you get really big and need to copyright the name? The new name could become a problem down the line. Just saying...

I guess it might also be important to disclose that we were thrown off iTunes because someone complained about the SWFUK logo.

Now, we had already made the decision to change any way, but if you go back to the last podcast release thread, people said it was missing from iTunes. This is why.

Whats more fancinating is who would complain?

Why would someone care enough to complain about something so trivial?

I doubt it was one of your listeners, probably just somebody browsing podcasts on there.

It's good that this thread has sparked so much conversation. Thats an indication of passion. Passion is what keeps us collecting.
For those who are a little concerned, I'm sure that over the last 14 podcasts the format has seen bigger changes than you'll see happening between now and the first Vintage Rebellion. Oddball has changed, LA has changed, boom has gone, music has been added, In the news has come...
We like the format, you like the format, we're not changing the format, in fact i've just had a quick check of the LA thread again to see who i'm gonna pick on next!
I still call Star Burst ,Opal Fruits, i'm kinda taken with Snickers over Marathon and to me Cif will always be Jif. Name changes happen, but one thing is for sure, the dominating source of reference banter and b#llocks will always come from here.
Oh and i'm sure (though we haven't looked that far ahead yet), the 2015 Christmas Panto will have some of you guys as budding thespians!
Much love

Anyone offended by the "SWFUK" logo is an idiot (Brits and Americans included). Fairly closed minded and lacking in the brains area of things. Not really sure If this forum was intended for families or kids, but as far as the Podcast goes, venture forth my brothers. The forum will remain the place were I hang my hat always.

Just want to chime in here, and put in my 10p worth.

Honestly, i feel as though i have gotten to know people better through listening to the podcast and im sure it will continue. I had a really bad attitude towards certain people last year, and before xmas listened to the episode at the time and it made me come online and apologise for the way i had been for a while before then. It started dialogue between myself and Grant via PM, which led to us realising that we were very similar and that life was too short to bear a grudge. My comic haul was featured on the first ever podcast, and its nice to know it made it on there. I dont know if ill ever be interviewed ( or if i would-tend to shy away) but its always nice to hear the other lads having their say.

All the guys there now, make it happen and i appreciate. The name isnt the reason why its a great show, its the way it it presented and reaches to a wider audience that makes it. I can see that SW FUK will offend some, but its only us who recognise it as a Star Wars forum, and not what outsiders think it is.

Thanks guys, and best of luck for the future.

Lee

I've been away in the Kent country side for the past few days with a limited internet connection on my phone. Was hoping Stu would get his finger out of arse and get the show up before I left so I could listen while I was away,

Anyway, when I got home today and saw the title of the latest show my heart sunk.

Knowing it's not going away was a relief and I'm sure the guys only want the best for the show. My only hope is that they continue to interview the average collector and not fall into the trap of mainly interviewing the US super collectors as other podcasts do.

I'm just happy to have UK based podcast that talks vintage. I look forward to listening every month. Not only is it about my favourite subject, it's also very entertaining.

RIP SWFUK podcast. Long live VINTAGE REBELLION.

Agreed, don't get the logo thing. Will be wearing my T-shirt at celebration next year.

Dan, there's no such thing as an average collector. I couldn't give a toss if you've a disfigured beater or a collection to rival Sansweet it's all the same to me. That will never change. All of the guests we've penciled in for the rest of the year will not change (except for 1 now that we've got to slot Edd in. :D )

You can't say things like that, even if you were more diplomatic than me. People will get offended and complain.

While I am one of those "stupid Americans" that loves this forum, I was neither confused by the original logo, nor upset that it has changed. Maybe that's because I grew up in Surrey, or maybe because I identify with Brits more than Americans. Or maybe because I understand that change is inevitable and in this case is both positive and benign.

Might the encounters at Anaheim have been annoying? Sure. I would have been a little annoyed too. But the SWForum UK crew is top shelf and they are rolling with new developments.

I tip my hat to all of you on the crew. Never have I enjoyed myself more on a podcast about Star Wars. Great interviews, great camaraderie.

Now if only I can convince Grant to contribute to a Star Wars Follies...
