But i won't be taking part while there's a limit. It's absurd and i wouldn't want to take someone else's spot. I would only be entering for fun. Not to win.

Where did you get that idea from though mate? There is no limit. Anybody can enter this competition, provided they enter before next Friday (which is so there's a deadline, not to limit/exclude people.) So it would be a shame if you didn't based on that principal.

I am merely entertaining the possibility of a limit or multiple prizes for the 'next' competition, should this one attract a lot of entries (much more than it currently has) and therefore putting some people off due to the reduced chance of winning. I agree with you though, I'm sure most people are/will be entering just for a bit of fun, not because they're counting on winning.

Seems there has been some confusion.
It seems i misread a post thinking it was saying entries are limited to 20 for this comp so I asked "Entries are limited?? Why??
I thought 20 was just a rough estimate of the amount of people we expected to play. Why on earth would there be a limit?"

And you went on to explain the reasons behind limiting entries. I assumed that meant entires were limited to 20 members. Which got right up my nose. I had no idea you were talking about possibilities for next time. I'm all for everything being considered in the planning of the next comp. I got confused. Sorry.

Haha, not a problem mate :)

I reckon :the more the merrier!

Can I change my want to a Palitoy VC Jawa moc please (assumung we get another 1500 entrants  )

Yeah I think it's cool that somebody will get a potentially really killer piece for a small outlay from themselves and everyone else :)

Lol, thought it was getting a bit serious!

All's well that ends well :D

I think it would be a good idea to do a 1st (£100 MOC) and 2nd price (£50 MOC) if we get a pot of £150 (30 people) - that was people get more of a chance to win something and we don't have to limit entries

I guess if we get up to 40 people then we could do 3 prizes (£100, £60, £40 or the likes)

Lets see how the first one goes - but I think it is great that everyone is taking part and as has been said - turning a fiver into a very nice MOC is a bloody good prize

Think this is a good template for any future draws.

At this rate I may need to upgrade my wish list to include POTF carded figures, except R2 and Romba. Its nice to see so many involved.

Edd will it be 1 MOC for the money in the pot or possibly 2 or 3 lower priced ones?? Im guessing its at your disgression.

I'm going to really try and get people stuff they want, and yes that may mean multiple items if the wish list doesn't have anything close to the total value. As said though I can't promise anything specific as it entirely depends on what is available.

i figure id better post up a wish list too

any tri logo moc ( exept biker scout )
a sealed darth vader carry case ( if you can get one for that sort of cash )
an original esb cinema poster
any jc penny mailer box ( any combination of figures full or not )

also if theres anything left over id like to donate it towards next months prize fund, if there is one that is. :D

This is a brilliant and fun idea, just chucked in my flim now.

After reading through the thread, personally I think it would be better staggering the prizes if there are a large number of entrants. I mean I'm a basic level collector and each member has their own collecting niche (focus), so what's good for one isn't good for another.

Doesn't make much sense, but last day at work today so already demolished a bottle of Shiraz, but I hope you get my drift.

Wants:

Anything with a lovely Palitoy logo please!

Edd has mentioned that you can do whatever you want with the figure/item when you get it, that includes selling it to fund other pursuits I suppose (if you aren't happy with it of course or he couldn't get something on your want list)

I think it might be fun to try two versions of this, this one can be a single high value prize and the second time if Edd wants to try it is to have a few prizes of equal or different value like has been suggested, then those that joined in for both can use a poll to show which one they enjoyed better.

Both have their pros and cons I suppose, when there is just one prize the odds of winning are worse but your are in the money if you do win and if there are more prizes you have more chance but don't win quite so much in return for your fiver. Either works for me really as I never win anything anyway
