I received Marvel #1 and #2 today. They are both the variant cover from the Kenner cardback (Luke and Han) 
#1 - I've heard all the hype about this and it was never going to live up to it. I am pleased to say it was a solid effort. Han was nailed. By far the best use of the characters although Luke and Leia don't really feature too much. The story was kind of believable and isn't really that important in the grand scheme of things which is fine. I would have been disappointed if it was some galaxy shattering event which turned everything upside down. Probably a little too much of a nod towards the OT - Skiff guards, Zuckuss, whole range of aliens we are familiar with. Ended well though so was looking forward to.....
#2 - which blew #1 out of the water. Not only was Han nailed, but Luke, Vade and C3PO raised their game. Great interaction between them. Wasn't keen on Vader discovering the lightsabre but it gives further justification for Vader's pursuit of Luke in ESB. Not too sure on Leia - seemed too Padme for me but we'll see.
Overall a solid start and looking forward to see where these go. Really looking forward to the Vader series. But... the Leia mini series looks **** if that's the art they're using. Looks like some badly drawn Asian cartoon.
