Initially I didn't and just focussed on a strong six. As ai played more and more, I ended up with a dozen characters that were all level one, some with 3, 4 or even 5 stars that had never been touched. As I started playing the galactic war element, I found I needed a much bigger squad than six though and have started to work on the other characters too. The secondary set(s) are still weak in comparison as I don't have the gems etc to upgrade them all and as you get stronger at the top end they get expensive to keep up with your level, so I try to balance what I win across the mix to keep a decent squad overall really.
Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes game anyone playing it?

Yeah I'm in a similar position. So many one starred characters. Not sure how worth it it is to try an increase their stars or just to increase their character level and equipment level. It is impossible for me to complete a galactic war at the moment.
Have the following at 3 or more stars;
Jedi Consul (4)
Clone Chewie (5)
Talia (4)
Darth Sidious (6)
IG-86 (5)
Qui Gon Gin (3)
All at level 55, but about to train them up to 56.
My Jedi consul has by far the most power out of all of them. But upgrading their equipment seems to take ages!
