Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes game anyone playing it?

I play it religiously lol is it bad that its one of the first things I do in the morning? lol Think I'm level 66 now and got quite a few characters. Unlocked Darth Vader this morning so was pretty chuffed about that.

It takes forever mate. If I hadn't have been on it religiously everyday for the last couple of months I would have next to nothing too lol

I don't seem to be an there near unlocking anyone new or even promoting the ones I have!

you have to be quite strategic, i restarted a few times when i worked out the best characters to level up (the ones with the most options, ie hard level shards, bonus battle 5 shards.

who do you have in your squad, jedi consular is dead easy to level up as he has about 5 levels where you can get a binus shard, i just use the green sim tickets generally

At the moment in my light side I have

Jedi Consular
Clones wookie
Jawa
Ewok warrior
Clone Sargent

Dark Side

Talia
Royal Guard
IG-86
Snowtrooper

Jedi Consular - keeper
Clones wookie - keeper until level 40ish by then you will hve luminara maybe
Jawa - ok but i dropped ages ago
Ewok warrior shite
Clone Sargent shite

Dark Side

Talia - good
Royal Guard shite
IG-86 keeper, ive stil got him now
Snowtrooper - shite

ive marked the ones ive still got and use, i had the same characters and the other ive dropped well behind, save your purple gems and buy more stage credits, keep upgrading the key characters. then aim to get better ones like luminara, phasma, sideious, dooku ect.

The gems you can buy a card that unlocks random character shards, 350 I think you need, but its random and you may unlock someone who takes an age to upgrade, its pot luck, you can also use them to refil your daily credits for playing levels which is what I do.

Hard levels give you shards for characters.

The green sim tickets allow you to simulate a level instantly as long as you have 3 star completed it, so you essentially win all the items without actually playing the level.

The arena token you redeem in the arena for character shards, 400 tokens gets you 5x sideous shards amongst other choices of characters

I'm no where near any other character.

I could use stim packs and speed one up I guess.

Are they replaced easily?

Anyone still playing this?

Seems like an incredible slow game unless you're prepared to pay cash!

Yeah, still playing it and have finally unlocked Vader.
To be fair, I've been playing it a lot; a week off work, away from home to do some running events, so loads of time on my hands in the afternoons and evenings. I've been rinsing the daily challenges every day to rack up loads of cash, gems etc.
I'm actually surprised how some characters that would seem to be top draw in the SW universe have not reached such high levels in the game; Vader being a classic example. Invested loads of my haul in getting him up to level 46 and upgrading his weapons and skills, still has less power than Bariss Offee when its developed the same level etc.
My best character now is Kit Fisto.
Can't get my head round how sometimes you get a gem, other times you get a character for the same/very similar activities.

I'm still going but confused over a few things. Unsure whether it's the star, the level, skill upgrade or the inventory upgrade which has most effect on the character's effectiveness

I fight in the arena against players whose overall power is over 1000 less than mine and get slaughtered!

Can't seem to win the galactic war either!

Yep, it is indeed a pretty confusing game, no real instructions and by the time you finish the introduction, I at least, forgot all the detail behind what was being shown.. I focussed more on what to do, rather than why.

How I think its working is that the Star rating develops the shield, so the more stars, the more hits/resistance you can take. This will mean you can have a much higher power, but with a low shield, you'll get smashed up easily.

Power 'seems' to come from weapon upgrades and level upgrades

The additional bonus I have found is upgrading the abilities (on the left of the character profile), the bits for these are gained in the challenges (ability mats challenge that is lie a few times a week (on today!), these can make a lightsaber hit 10/15/20% more powerful or an energy recoup similarly better.

To beat the Galactic War, I have started with using weaker characters in the early rounds as they won't survive a second in the later rounds and saving the best characters till later rounds. Also, my dream set of characters in the war will have two (if you have them) that can regenerate health and to use them tactically through the battles. Regenerating energy is often more useful to survive and win than just playing the guys that can kill quickest.
