After tundra9 spotted a fake recently:

1. Small dots on the face. The circled one is often slightly smaller.
2. Paint defect on right hip.
3. Fat pants.
4. Circled arm band is sometimes thicker than the others.
5. The band of paint on the hips appears longer.
6. Inner paint application error.
7. Feet together.
8. Stick out ears. The circled one has more paint.

Thanks I think it will help a lot of collectors out there. Sad that they make this fake figures

I think there is another thread on this forum about this troopers, I remember I warned Hasbro about it last year, looks like it did not help

I was just wondering about these Poons after I gave some of my Stormies a wash last night...

Does anybody know if these float in the same way as the original Stormies also do they weigh any more or less?

and you guys worry about repro weapons  ...........this is more of a problem by far.

Ain't that the truth - and to think that some people still see this as a 'bootleg'

.....but thats another discussion

Well it is 'bootleg' by definition, just a nasty poisonous undesirable 'bootleg'...

Your right though, the definition of Bootleg in Vintage Star Wars collecting is a whole new discussion.

from memory they weigh 15.7 grams the equivalent 2 line Hong Kong is 15.2
half a gram is bugger all but from my 'research' it's significant.
0.5-1 gram is how I guarantee a hard torso vs 'normal' torso figure. People have correctly accused me for being spastic for weighing some figures but so be it
Accurate scales can be purchased for $15 delivered off ebay & is a useful tool for finding modern restrike coins.

Great research james :D

When I spotted the poon copy in the sales thread the first thing I noticed was the ear area halfway down the head, the poon one sticks out more and the paint is different.

Cheers for the further info on this - it was myself that had the offending item for sale (totally unaware that fakes even existed) it was swiftly removed and now resides in my sons toybox :D

have you seen how cheap they are 6.13 euros for 2 shipped to the uk!!!
