I will start by saying it is with great sadness I write this post!.

For a couple of years I have been most concerned about a certain large volume seller of baggies (Jeff Glanville / ebay user - j10e5f6f6 ) & have been keeping close tabs on sales from him, I first became suspicious when he offered me some baggies with red text on them which I confirmed were fake or re-bagged from another toy line, I presumed that was the end of those baggies & they would be opened & the baggies discarded, sadly about 6 months or so later the guy had them listed for sale on his ebay account even though he knew they were not correct, since that time I have been watching closely, but till recently never anything concrete one could confirm was fake 100%, that situation has thankfully changed as myself, a few other baggie collectors & knowledgeable collectors have been working together in a closed group set up to uncover what exactly is going on & to what extent the deception goes.

To say what has been uncovered is a shock is no surprise but the lengths the situation has reached is frightening.

As far as we can tell Jeff has been doing this for a long time (minimum 4 years), IMO making fake baggies / resealing genuine baggie with swapped out figures & has over that time been improving & trying to perfect those fakes, if he is not making them himself then he is heavily involved in selling them as nearly all examples that we have confirmed trace back to him either directly or indirectly, many baggie types have been confirmed to have been affected, though it would seem that as time has gone on & Jeff has become more confident in his deception & fraud the higher the ratio of fakes to genuine baggies he has been selling, this has to stop & stop now, hence me & the other guys involved wanting to make this pubic as -

A – it needs to end

B – the damage being done to baggie collecting through these fakes needs to be addressed.

I do not want to go on at length & will try to keep this as clear & concise as possible so it can be easily digested & his fakes can be identified easily so everyone can check their collections & these fakes with luck can be removed from circulation as well as any damage he has done to the hobby be minimized.

I will be adding photos of genuine examples as well as fake examples of each baggie type we know about that is affected & how to spot the fakes easily, all the photo evidence will be posted on SWFUK in the link below, I would appreciate everyone posting on there as this will have to go cross forum & on many facebook groups, so there would be no way I can keep track of them all, so please follow the link for photos/details & discussion.

Baggie types that we know are fake and have been sold by him -

The decision to make this public is not a rash one & as said has been discussed in detail with all of the following members of said closed investigations group, all are in agreement that this is fact not fiction.

Below some examples of the suspected fakes, note the poor font quality & the off top seal on the R5 with the red background which is currently listed on ebay, sadly these have been in circulation long enough to have switched hands a few times, I think the SW-a & b baggies are some of the first to have been attempted, so have been doing the circuit for some time.

Not as well as the terrible font, the pin head han solo has been packed with the incorrect black blaster which is specific to the 83/84 Han trench coat figure, at least 3 of these have been traced directly back to Jeff by the buyers.

Above the R5 I spoke of with the top heat seal which is totally incorrect for this type of baggie, this one is on ebay right now.

SW-b

First up a genuine SW-b -

Below several examples of the suspected faked ones, note the apparent improvement over time of both the font & the seals as well as the width of the baggies being corrected -

ESB-b These really are bad, so obvious, why it had not been spotted earlier is a mystery, the inner white are looks to be hand painted, note on the genuine example the white is in fact the first area to be affected by font rub, totally the opposite on the suspected faked or touched up ones, with lot's of wear to the black out box & black text, yet the Kenner blue/white logo looking all too fresh & blotchy, genuine example up first -

& below some examples of the suspected fakes, every one of which was purchased from Jeff G by various folks I have spoken with to confirm the source -

Meccano red sticker offer this one is again so blatantly obvious, none were offered via ebay & all sold direct to know contacts - shocker eh, it became blatantly obvious when the recent find of genuine overstock meccano red sticker baggies came to light, all tracing back to meccano & after speaking with a few french collectors it became obvious the darker red snickered ones are incorrect, the dark red is not only the wrong colour, but also the wrong size, plus the obvious one - no heat sealed meccano tri logo fetts have ever been found, always stapled like the first example below -

meccano_zpshwjmbubu.jpg

ROTJ-a much more problematic to I.D this one as I have a feeling they are real baggie, but have had figures swapped, my suspensions where first perked as I had been looking for a ROTJ-a fett baggie for a very long time for my fett baggie run & not seen any, then one came up for sale,so I bought it, then another & another & another, which is really odd considering this particular fett baggie only came in one or 2 multi packs, I have also noted a great many luke farm boys being offered in this baggie, though I can not confirm if they are correct, but the fett has a different patterned heat seal compared to all other known ROTJ-a baggie, with a crosshatching/circling pattern not present on other examples, I have confirmed with someone who owns a genuine ROTJ-a fett that his is a the regular smooth seal like other ROTJ-a's which is is.

The clincher & proof on this one came when I was shown some baggies that were sold by Jeff at FF (farthest from event last month) now the baggie in question is a Taiwan solid top R2-D2, this figure only ever came in solid top from what I understand, yet it's been sold to an R2 focus guy in a ROTJ-a (ROTJ era baggie), this would never have existed, the buyer also bought a ESB-h extra wide baggie with the same Taiwan solid Top R2 (shown further down in the ESB-h section).

ESB-h - extra wide Genuine ESB-h extra wide baggie first -

IMGP7207.jpg

Below the R2 Taiwan I spoke of above, the figure is incorrect for the baggie era & just check out both the dimensions of the baggie & the heat seal -

It's worth nothing this is not the first ESB-h type baggie thats been in question from this buyer, see thread below -

Unfortunately the image has since gone, but this is the baggie in question -

IMGP6611_zps06501d9e.jpg

Then there's also the trash monsters that have been doing the rounds, they can not be confirmed as ever coming in the play sets like this -

IMGP6772_zps1cec97a9.jpg

Palitoy-a - POTF figures again a rare / desirable baggie with a high value (notice the pattern forming??) now these baggies are as said very rare & also insanely costly, only examples ever found having been traced back to Woolworths 8 figure 99p packs, every known confirmed example exists in just one baggie type, that being the Palitoy-i which is extra long & tape sealed, now the interesting thing & the conformation for me is that Jeff actually contacted me when the buyer of the below contacted him regarding a refund, Jeff was under the impression they should come in Palitoy-a baggies which are similar, but much shorter & of a different material type altogether, the Palitoy-i's as said are longer, but also soft material, whereas the Palitoy-a is a crisp baggie.

First up a genuine examples from my own collection which I got from Del several years ago -

IMGP6509_zps22721194.jpg

Blow the suspected fakes, note the Yak does not even have the correct colour font & is in a crisp baggie, also note that the font size on 2 of the other 3 are different sizes & the 3rd does not even have any font -

Why if you knew an item was clearly not right would you offer it up for sale again without clear disclosure.

I will forward the link to this thread on to Jeff myself as I have nothing to hide.

Jeff denied he resold these red text baggies on eBay - here is feedback left for one of those sales:

Confirmation that Frank told Jeff these were fake 12 months before he sold it:

August 2013 send frank a picture with the logray baggie, a pruneface baggie, and an empty baggie and offers them to him. Frank does not say outright they are fake but says that no star wars toys have been confirmed to be in these and they are from strawberry shortcake line as well as saying their authenticity is questionable.

file.php

September 2014 Sold the logray baggie with red text on ebay This baggie was not seen prior, but this sale is after Frank has said these baggies are questionable and can not be confirmed

file.php

Just a few things I have put together so far by doing my own digging. I am presuming the teebos are the saem as they look the same to me, but the purchase of the teebo is irrelevant anyway since the sale of the logray is after the email to frank is where the main point is.

I'm certainly no expert on baggies and only bought this to compliment my Bossk focus, it appears to have the correct SW-a baggie but close ups of the font look disturbingly similar to the fakes shown earlier.

The bag is crinkly and is heat sealed. Frank, if you need better pictures to update your guide please just ask.

Here's what Jeff put on FB (I have edited out a few accidental double posts)

Hi Guys!

Im here to say my piece and weather your with me or not thats for you to decide? Some of you will know me as i have sold shed loads of starwars stuff on and off ebay for near 10 years now. Not just baggie, I have been collecting mainly starwars baggies since the late 90;s and had at one point over 1000 baggies . I have sold many to some of you guys and become very good friends having the plesure of meeting some of you recently in person at the FF show .My good friend asked me along to sell my excess stock last year and i have been welcomed back since. I hope this issues does not damage this relation i have with these guys as im so upset with how this has been done .Now im here to say my piece as most of all know by now im being outted as a faker. I had been accumalating baggies mainly via ebay and private sales and recently over the last 3 years been switching to collecting carded figs as i have noted alot of my bagged figures were starting to perish/spilt /dry ect and decided that i would start to sell all these excess stock i have as really do i need these many baggies sitting in boxes in the loft?? So thats the main reason i have sold so many not that i have been making them thats maddness . I have sold many of these so called fakes to Frank mewesway back and he accepted them so had no reason to deem them as any thing but genuine. I know one of my soures was a guy called Gratson cant remeber his first name but spent £1000's of pounds with him which is the source of most of my SW-a , b and d, which the text is not right i been told and only found out last night.

If i had know there was an issues when this witch hunt started some months back and someone had the gump to contact with knowing this issues then i could of actted on it sooner but no my good friends some of you here decided to undercover and expose me as a possible fake , well im not and any of you are welcome to my house and see my collection any time as i have no intrest and have not the time in doing so. I run a family bussiness with my parents and have 2 childern to look after full time so i can tell you i have little time to myself which when i do is spent surfing for more starwars related bargain i can add to my growing collection. As many of you know i have family in the stataes and therefore have a gateway to buy stuff that Ebay.com users dont allow us folk in the Uk to buy which is a fair bit of missed baggie opt. Any qustions any of you have please feel free to ask or email me at [email protected] i would give my mobile no too but been not to for time reasons but would of been happy to do so. I also happy to refund anyone who can give me a valid reason for a return but please note that because of this post it has left me with loads of teaxts and emails from worried buyers and quite righly so. I thank those who know me well for there support and yes i agree this has been done wrong with posting ugly mug up there for all to see is very wrong. Frank i thought you would of knoew better regards etiquette when naming people with this kind of info. there is so much more i want to say but have to go as im at work and am needed else where. i will finish this later and most likely answing your questions. just to let you guys know i have been put on stop with PayPal due to this posting as from this morning so im unable to refund anyone but hoping to get it lifted .i will see everyone gets a refund but please you will need to give me time as i expect some of you will demard one weather you think these are fake or genuine. Please be kind and i will respond Asap. Thanks Jeff P.s sorry there is no spell check on this dam thing so you will have work out what i said if it dont read right.

First and foremost the whole point of this thread was to warn the community about fake baggies that are in circulation, granted I think it's clear things could of been handled differently in regards to the way this came out but it is what it is now. I think frank mentioned that he told Jeff some baggies were not correct and he sold them regardless so what would be the point in him contacting Jeff to say you have been selling **** loads of baggies for years that I believe to be fake, was Jeff going to turn around and say I best contact everyone I sold them to and offer a refund.....was he heck....would you?

This is in no uncertain terms any kind of a witch hunt or victimisation towards Jeff, the fact is jeff has been selling these fake baggies for at least two years and we feel the volume of baggies and the amount of different type(s) of fake baggies leading directly back to him warranted him being named.

It's a well known fact that Jeff is very forthcoming when it comes to refunds and would imagine it's something he has become very accustom to over the years, it's common knowledge amongst collectors that he always refunds in a quiet manner and nothing else is said about it and is swept under the carpet so to speak, I think in most cases people are just happy to have got there money back, I'm surprised and a bit disappointed that more collectors have not come out and said the same, there is no denying jeff is a great source for baggies with top contacts, he also sells lots of high end legit items and imagine a lot of collectors don't want to burn bridges with him.

I don't think any one has come out and said Jeff is out and out faking these baggies himself and even if he was I doubt that could be proven so let's just leave that alone. Jeff said all his baggies are from his collection and he is just selling of his 1000+ baggie collection, anyone who deals with Jeff knows he always has big hauls coming in, so why is he acting like he's just some guy selling of his collection, if you have ever dealt with Jeff you will know he means business when it comes money and vintage sw so I don't get the whole selling of my collection routine????

if I'm being honest I feel some of the posts on here regarding frank are really unfair and immature, some post make frank look like a crank (that rhymes lol) and some kind of conspiracy nut job which he is far from. Knowing the kind of person frank is I doubt he will do a podcast, he's a bit of a caveman and doubt that would be his bag, I wouldn't blame him either as I thought the whole podcast (today's) thing was really very tacky tbh

If Jeff has been collecting and buying and selling as long as he has then some of these fakes should of been spotted a mile away because quite frankly some are just dog ****!!! he's either very stupid (he's far from), careless or just doesn't care and sold them regardless, either way he should be held accountable for his actions.

I think I speak for everyone on the group here when I say the intention was never a malice one, it was not a witch hunt it was a fact finding mission to put a stop to the fake baggies that were being sold by jeff and polluting the collecting world, if we have achieved that then that's mission accomplished in my eyes.

I think frank will be putting some kind of information/guide online in regards to spotting the fakes soon and it's worth noting that Jeff sells lots of legit stuff so no point in panicking as I'm sure many are fine

I'm going to post some pics of the baggies Jeff has sold on eBay and to other collectors below, some are recent and some are not and were sold two or more years ago.

Hi, I bought these Palitoy Fett baggies from a guy in the UK in April. I sent them into AFA and they say not only did this figure not come in this type of baggie, they both have overlapping paint on the head and belt which differs in color texture and accuracy from the original paint underneath. I have posted some pictures under a blacklight. When AFA inform me about the baggies I gave them the go-ahead to inspect the figures. The main reason I bought these 2 figures was because I've been trying for years to find a near perfect example.

Just to be clear these two pieces came from Jeff Glanville. He said (Its a real sham they have been removed from the baggies as I would of offered you a refund on return.)

If the baggies are fake and the figures have been tampered with, what does it matter that they are not in the baggies?

I will add more substance to my inclusion in the coming day's as I have not been well the last week or so but thought it important to add this communication at this current point in time.

Whilst finalising my Baggie run and trying to acquire the last four baggies in December 2015 I was after a Fett and Jeff sent this image of these different Fetts available.
The Big Pick had not long happened and the Vader Case with the never had been seen complete set o ESB - b baggies came to light so naturally I was keen on the Fett.

Jeff had stated in the correspondence below that this was the only one and that he had and that he had had this for over 5 year's but now he has had a supply of illegitimate looking ESB - b Fett baggies for sale this year.

These where never previously in his collection from what he stated so where have they come from?

Indeed same baggies same text & yes all I know they are from a different toyline entirely, no star wars figures have ever been known or are ever likely to be in this kind of baggies, the only known example of a red text star wars is in a Macau red text baggie which is nothing like this thype & also stupidly rare.

I know there is no date to confirm on the same of the others, but I know it was many months after I confirmed via email that they were not right,I assumed at the time Jeff would just open them & discard the baggies & as said had it not been for those red baggies being sold on after me informing him, I may never have looked in to Jeff's sales more closely or scrutinized the ones I had bought from him previously, several of which I still have including one of the 3 SW-a lando's I know he has sold in the past could of years, that alone was a point that had my alarm bells ringing like mad.

You see the lando SW-a baggies is insanely rare, it was only ever issued for the ESB toy fair mock up stand of which maybe 10 or 20 at the most I would say were produced, of those only the ones actually used for the toy fair were suspected to have come with these SW-a baggies, all the others which were issued to salesmen as promo samples (if I do understand this correctly) came with the more readily available ESB-c baggies, so in essence there should theoretically only ever have been about half a dozen of them produced, so 3 to go through one persons seller account in a matter of a couple of years & me already owning one did not make a lot of sense to me.

I decided to bit on the one he had listed on open auction on ebay & I won it at a really fair price, I was delighted as it was an upgrade for the one I had already, sadly that one I had already has a little tear in the baggies, it's taken me many years to put the full set of these 6 SW-a baggies together for the mock up stand, the huge loss for me above anything else it the one with thee tear I sold to a collecting buddy in Holland is legit, on close inspection the one I got is a fake, so now the set I worked one for many years is again incomplete with the likelihood of ever finding another genuine example is near impossible, I am saying all this as it's one good example of how a refund just does not cut it, yes I should have spotted this, but at the time I had a lot on & just put it on a shelf until well after I sold the other I had one by which time it's to late.

Here is the genuine one I sold on -

This is the one I got from Jeff, I no doubt have email conformation of the sale as well as PP info -

There is simple no righting this as the set equates to thousands of pounds & many years years invested hunting ruined by one of the fakes.

I have as said all other 5 for the set as well as many special offer vehicles that came with SW-a baggies, every one was the same text type all from known collectors & not a single one with this terrible blotchy white paint application, I am more than happy to post pictures of multiples or all of them as a comparison if needed
