odd stormtrooper black paint spotting

just acquired this piece.

at first glance the black looks good

but on the right hand the black is there but is faded and you can see paints dot. at first i thought it was a retouch. but im now thinking is it paint degradation?

any thoughts guys?

Ive no idea. I bought of a forum member the other week. Strange eh?

Looks like a chemical reaction the way it seems to be peeling. If if it was a retouch you wouldn't think the original piant would also be removed as it appears to be... For what it's worth, my bet would be on a cleaning agent reacting with the black paint.

I'd say retouched and the top layer is flaking off.
