Special buy focus is being disbanded.

Guys,

Just a quickie, im going to be splitting up my focus of UK special buy items over the next few weeks. I just havent got the room for it anymore, although i will be keeping a few select pieces. It pains me to do it, but boxed items take up too much space and its becoming an issue. I think i may start collecting loose like that Northern guy from Sunderland on the podcast :lol:

I know its better selling bits one at a time, but is there anyone out there who would like such a focus and would buy it all in one hit? There are a few really nice pieces aswell as 3 opened special buy baggie 8 packs.

Personally I think selling it as a special buy focus would be a struggle. Its quite a niche run and most of the fun is putting it together IMO. Buying a complete one won't do it for a lot of people.

However I think if you pieced it out there are quite a few individual bits people would go for. I can hear Frank readying his bank account for the woolworths gear and Im sure they would sell well. I personally think your best bet would be to piece it out.

If you don't want the dough back and you want to focus on other things perhaps offer trade deals?

Think Ben's nailed it; the fun is putting such a run together. I would think the only way to sell on in one go would be at a price that would enable someone else to part them out and make a few quid.

But if you sold them separately yourself you'd get going rate and I'm sure nothing would hang about long. I'd certainly be looking to pick up one piece in particular

God dam shame to hear this as it's a killer focus & a superb run you have put together Lee.

You know my door is always open when it comes to woolies 8 packs, so please bear me in mind if you decide not to keep them in the select items buddy.

I did the same with all my boxed items & large vehicles & 12" figures years back for the same reason, a lot of fun collecting them, but storing & displaying it all can be a huge problem without kicking the rest of the family into the coal shed, feel for you mate.

One of my main reasons for sticking to lose & baggies as even MOC's take up so much room :|

Lee, first bit of advice - don't do it!! Buy a shed or something!

If you do want to sell I just saw a guy do a WTB on RS for lots of tri-logo boxed items (im presuming most special buy stickers are on tri logo boxes?) http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1123675/

Well, all the mini rigs have gone aswell as ewok bits, Ewok village, Jabba and Rancor boxes. Its already cleared a lot of room in my loft and im actually happier. I wanted to keep the Rancor and Jabba toys, just move the boxes

Well it was good while it lasted, but its time to move on.

Fresh starts are good for the soul... It's funny how you look at your collection and think to yourself that you would never sell certain items, and then a few months/years later you do.

When I saw lots of special buy stuff online, I thought your stuff had been scalped, especially after I had seen you list the whole collection in one go before. Good to see it wasn't.

Always sad seeing a niche collection like this being disbanded. If I had the money and energy and space I'd have thought about being the next curator but sadly I'm out of all 3. Good luck man.
