So I won this beautiful PDT-8 which is actually pretty rare in this condition.

Well, even rarer now, because the seller sent it to me like this:

Needless to say it's now badly crushed.

The swear words escape me to express how I now feel. I actually shed some manly tears over it just now.

He even screwed me over with the shipping costs which were £3,39 instead of the £16 he made me pay.

Judging by his feedback, I'm not the only one who got this treatment either.

Un-****ing-believable. I'd **** it up some more and get a full refund. And neg the bastard. :x

Thats ****in bollocks Emiel! Unclucky mate! :x Yep Neg the bastard for overcharge on postage before we get to the wrappinbg skillls

****

That has to be one of the worst packing jobs for a boxed item I have seen. The worst one I know of is just shipping it in the the original box and putting a shipping label on it. What an utter retard.

At least you got bubble wrap Emiel, I once received a TaunTaun in just brown parcel paper, and my name & address was inscribed onto the box where the seller had pressed onto it. Cock!!!

Gutted for you mate. In the short time I've been collecting, I've had 2 bits damaged and it's so ****ing annoying. The money he charged on postage, the least he should have done is box it up. It pisses me off when sellers tell you how good condition there stuff is, then just send it with no protection and it gets ****ed.

What a prick - words escape me as to how bad that packaging is

What was he thinking ?

How can people be so stupid. I didn't realise what kind I money these fetch. You'd think for that price he could afford a shoe box

His reply:

Hi,

Sorry to hear about the issues with the postal service.

My shipping charges are an estimate and do not just cover the actual postage charge, they also include packing materials and my time with regard to packing and visits to the postal offices. They are an estimate, but are never excessive.

In the instance of your item, as with others, I decided that the box was sufficiently intact enough to ship in this method. Items with weaker boxes are sent more protected, depending on the integrity of the box.

I will look into this and get back to you within the hour.

Regards,

Andy

You should send that response to ebay - they don't allow seller to include "my time with regard to packing and visits to the postal offices."

That sucks, I cringed looking at the picture, how can ppl be so stupid, even if I have not had spare boxes before I have taken toasters and fan heaters out of their boxes just so i could use a box.

I presume you will be lodging a complaint to ebay about the way the item has arrived (don't mention it is just the packaging as they don't accept this as damage) Within the compliant you should enclose the response he has sent regarding the postage costs. I think you have a good chance of getting all of your money back and keeping the item

Emiel you need to file an item not as described claim

Bottom of the page/contact eBay/item not as described.

That will get you a full refund minus return postage, but the seller will be stuck with a crushed box

If you want to keep it and just get an excessive postage refund there used to be a link but I can't see it now

You can always ask for a partial refund as part of the item not described. Alternatively just email eBay, in the contact eBay at the bottom of the page.

This guy can't get away with being a twat

As Iain says don't mention packaging as then the postal service gets involved - you paid for a mint item but received a crushed box. Nothing else really matters
