I was just having a look through ebay and noticed this is still on there:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TRI-LOGO-LUKE-STORMTROOPER-MOC-AFA-WORTHY-TRILOGO-POTF-/140503219456?pt=UK_ToysGames_ActionFigures_ActionFigures_JN&hash=item20b6a4fd00

This figure has been on ebay constantly for about 5 years now!! It's about 200% over-priced, and the seller must have spent hundreds of pounds in listing fees over this time.

Now I know we all want the best price when selling something, but I don't get people like this. Who in their right mind, after 5 years, wouldn't think 'maybe I'm asking too much for this?' and lower the price to actually SELL it.

I know what you mean Edd. Im guessing hes in no rush to sell it. Lol. I hate relisting. I see it as much lost at the end of the day. It sells for what it sells for. Stick it in auction with a reserve if needs be. 8)

A tad overpriced. His 3000 quid 4-lom has been up since i started collecting nearly year ago too. I can't believe he ever sells anything. When will sellers learn that these things are worth what people want to pay for them, not what you want it to be worth?

It's not so much the over-optimistic valuation that bothers me, if somebody thinks their C7 Bib Fortuna is worth £500, good for them! I just can't figure out the logic of this guy - he could have given this figure away for free 5 years ago, rather than waste 5 years of ebay fees.

Yeah you're right. Charge what you want by all means but he's paying for the privilege like you say. Either way you look at it it looks like the work of a person with a very low IQ.

I'm pretty sure that's castlediamond (?Anthony?) off RS. He is always selling and buying proofs, but does engage in some odd selling methods. I'm sure there's an old post about him

You might be right Spoons. He has had some really nice items over the years (AFA95 MOC's etc) but his pricing is often double what you would even consider paying.
He's an individual following the BT model of selling. I guess he has his reasons for his pricing but it does seem strange!

Ohh and I bought a few MOC's off him years ago, not at ridiculous prices I'd like to say, and he was very easy guy to deal with.

Its is Anthony off RS, his proofs are listed between £1500 and £3000, i dont know why he relists them really at that price

But each to their own

I bought my Han Hoth revenge proof off him for about £130 a few years back, but he does have a lot of strangely priced ones

I was speakin to a couple of people from this forum at the last MEM in November and they were sayin how he admits that they 'aren't worth that much' but he just continues to re-list them all.

Must be at least 5 years or so they've been on ebay

Like you say Edd why bother??

You see it all the time, whether its on Ebay, forums or toy fairs. Some people seem to peddle the same stuff for the same insane prices over and over and they never shift it. they must of convinced themselves that its worth that and that everyone must be wrong for not buying it.

I did wonder if Anthony actually had a plan to push prices up. He seems to buy loads of proofs, and if he eventually owns them all he can charge what he likes

He will never own them all, did you see those pics on RS with someone who had stack and stacks of them? cant remember what thread it was now, ive also seen a few collections with tons in.

I must admit though there isnt many proof collectors in the UK that i know of.

just idle thoughts on my part - I'd like to collect proofs but really its only the cheaper ones that I would buy.

Now is the time then, there is a list of revenge proofs on RS that keep coming down, a few were $120 i think which is good for non-production stuff.

Andy

I think Revenge proofs are worth £100-£150 tops, there's dozens of each character. As with everything else vintage, Boba Fett is no more rare than the AT AT Commander, he just has more people jizzing over him

I suppose it also comes down how often an item gets sold too, there will be 100's of fett revenge proofs but nobody wants to part with them, hench the value goes up.
They dissapear underground into complete collection and dont surface again, i found that a lot of the bounty hunter proofs didnt surafce, i had to dig deep to find my full run of revenge.
