Had the chance to spend a fabulous 2 weeks in Orlando with the family over Easter (9 of us!) and had a thoroughly great time. In planning what we would Jr and I had always intended to pay a visit to the Star Tours ride in Hollywood Studios and tbh this was the thing we were looking forward to most!!
If we could have gone a month later the park would have been full of SW related characters as throughout May, June and July they hold Star Wars weekends 8) However we were not to be left too disappointed on missing out on this as the Star Wars dedicated area was still great to experience.
The ride itself is a 3D simulator that takes you through different worlds including Tatooine, Kayshhhyk, Endor and various other places in the Star Wars universe. Sadly of the 2 goes we had we didnt make a visit to Hoth and there are actually 54 variations of the ride so the chances of experiencing the same ride twice are slim. The ride itself was really quite breath-taking as you fly through asteroid fields being chased by Jango Fett or join in the pod race against Sebulba on Tatooine (if truth be told the Transformers 3D simulator ride was marginally better in terms of the thrill factor).
So if you get the chance to go this place and ride is a must. Plus there's a stunt show with cars and explosions that was simply awesome 8)
