I recently bought this 3PO and R2 on Ebay.

The 3PO was described as coming straight from an open baggie and did come with bag and sealed chewy bag with it. All was ok, till i looked closely at the 3PO. I noticed some kind of light browny glue residue circling his whole torso. The limbs were abnormally stiff and difficult to remove, but did eventually come off and look fine, but I did notice the same browny glue at the end of the limb pegs. My 1st thoughts were to instantly send the figure back, but I checked my other removable limb 3PO's and they too had the same browny glue on the end of the limb pegs. But clearly not around the torso. The figure is in very good condition but for a few marks so don't see why you would take it apart. I cannot see any marks around the torso to suggest that it has been prised open and from experience taking a figure apart is not easy.

It's odd that the glue colour suggests it was done a long time ago or is even the same factory glue.
It's odd that such a nice figure would be tampered with.
It's odd that there is so little damage for a figure that has been forced into parts.

Anyone got an example of one being glued in factory, or should I send this sucker back.
You can see the glue clearly on the his left collar bone on this picture.

just checked my childhood lfl 82 hk rem limb and there is no trace of that brown stuff anywhere on it took the arms legs off and the ends do look brown ish but sure that's the type of mould plastic used looks bit honeycomb ish defiantly looks like glued at a later date but no expert :?: what does the bottom bit look like between the legs as usually has the snap off hole from production :?:

I've examined his crotch and as expected he has no balls but the typical crack.

There are a few marks around the neck where it could have been lifted off and then somehow the torso broken apart. Whoever did it must have been pretty lucky not to do more damage, but the glue res is obvious.

Decided it's going back. As nice as the figure is, it's clearly been tampered with at some point of it's history so the listing is bullshit.

ha ha :D :D only type of residue I've seen before is the tacky oily residue on some figs where the plastic has started to break down but only seen this on gam guards / nikto / klaatu where storage over the years seems to have affected the plastic, not silvered figs, don't know if anyone else on here has seen this before, if not it must be some type of glue, used to be a type of brownish glue called golden gum looks like that muck :?:
