Judge them at the end of the season or when they can't finish in the top 4. Just my opinion. :?
Even that doesn't hold the prestige it once did. I don't mean the CL as such more the fact that so many PL teams have been ****/gone through a "transition" (whatever the **** that means) that if Utd had their current points total but in last seasons PL they would be sixth. An indictment of every side in the league, bar the top two and the overachieving Saints. So even if Utd get a top four spot it will be in one of the weakest versions of the PL we have seen AND after spunking the guts of 200 million on players.

Doesn't matter how much money you spend a sqaud/team still needs time to gel
I give you, Real Madrid. They spunk stupid money on players every single year and last time I checked they were doing ok! In fact, i think they won something last year, European something....
Or if you want an example closer to home, Southampton. Pretty sure they lost a couple of players over the summer, and bought in a load more. Plus Rodriguez is still injured. They didn't need time to gel.
I think you have a point BUT, too many managers/supporters use that as an excuse for being ****, under performing, or under delivering. Utd are absolutely in that basket. And for the record, so are Liverpool and they have been for large chunks of the last 15-20 years.
